UK.gov to tap BT as data harvester

Thumb Down

Urgh

This spying thing is getting out of control. At least you can order an internet connection under a false name. The only name is with my card that I pay it with, and that's not even my card. The house that the connection is in has 4 tenancies in it.

Eat that, BT.

Yours truly

This is bloody awesome

Though I must say that there are encryption programs out there with 'plausable deniability' options; somebody very close to me uses a program, called 'Crypto Key', I think, that has an option to totally hide a partition within a partition, with two keys.

Upon torture, you can give one key, which will unlock all but the hidden partition, leaving the hidden part resembling nothing but useless data.

And for yourself, there's the second key, that unlocks all of it ;)

There is always IronKey, or its eqiuvalent, with the 'self destruct' option if somebody attempts to hack the USB Key

I just made a gormless, grizzling noise at work at 8am

Though it reminds me of Virgin Media telling me that 'the internet doesn't work on linux' when I requested that they stop bloody throttling me.

This is shocking

As a Linux user, a lot of distros come via torrent, so I'm not going to be able to download them. Well, all I can say is thank god I'm going to be able to move out soon and use BT

VbyV password reset is childishly simple

IT Angle

MY GOD THIS

Twice I have forgotten my VBV password when online shopping, and each time I can reset it utterly simply.

Takes the mickey when my best friend could reset it for me, as he did when I asked him to buy something for me where the details were stored on the website anyway.

Apricot drops 'too complicated' Linux from netbook line

Linux

WAAAH, WAAAAAH, I'M TOO STOOPID TO LINUX!!

These people need to get real! I've had virtually no problems with Linux - any distro - whilst Microsoft eats the RAM from my notebook. I've got a good-spec notebook, and the only problems have been that the notebook was made for Vista, ergo low-quality graphics card.

They need a slap.

Government tied in knots by bondage protest

sammi

WHAT?

Is this not just infuriating?!? The government blocking things because CHILDREN might see them!! Why don't they just teach PARENTING to the people allowing them on the net unsupervised?!
