German ISP doesn't have to block foreign 'illegal' betting sites

Might be a super thicky here....

Where is (sports*) betting permitted then? Obviously here in the UK there are numerous Corals etc on every high st, low street, and occasionally in the grounds of a pub, but is it normally restricted? I know that it's tightly regulated in the U.S. but I put that down to puritanical routes.

I know that a lot of poker websites are based in the Carribean, but I presumed they were based there for tax advantages. Is betting generally more frowned upon in the wider world?

* I put sports btting in parentheses because sometimes they are treated differently.

WTF?

Hasn't everyone here missed the point?

It's not a case of 'Ooh paedo wow', but merely the difference between the laws that we as citizens are prosecuted under, and that which 'authority' is able to escape.

Take a picture of your infant in the bath, and a Jessops' guy reports it - you are now a suspected paedo; but if plod at an airport (potentially) leers at a kid in his or her birthday suit - it's a perfectly legal application of security legislation.

The disparity between recent (mis)use of the obscenity laws, and what is proposed here is the real problem.

Gaelic?

"Wales - A principality of the UK, on the western side of England. Was annexed by England long before the act of union, and has only been recognised as seperate to England in the latter part of the 20th Century. Is largely self-governing, with a strong GAELIC speaking community and identity."

We speak Welsh or Cymraeg luv, which is more similar to Breton and Cornish than Gaelic, Scots or Manx.

It's summit to do with P & Q goedelic if I remember tidy.
