I am sync at 21meg and download at 20meg and have found this to be consistent day and night. That includes downloads from ftp/http/newsgroups. I wondered if they were really unlimited so downloaded 140gig in 12 days and was still running at full speed :)

I laugh at the new virgin adverts for 50meg as they cant even provide 20 meg properly. Some lucky customers get 20meg but the majority get around 3-10 and if you download anything the virgin 'fair useage' kicks in.

I am with BE and they claimed no limits. Put this to the test last month and downloaded 140Gig of data in 12 days - was still running at the 20meg out of possible 24meg at the end of it. Seems like they were telling the truth :)

I was with NTL/Virgin before and on a good day would get the advertised 20meg but then would get 3-5meg for a few days then back up. This was without massive downloads and before they admitted to capping.

Loving it

Never used hotmail as a main email just a secondary one between isp's etc. Loving the new interface it is loads faster than the old and seems to work fine. True you cant see all folders, that is why there is a scroll bar next to them to scroll down to the rest ! Wondered if the scroll bar wasnt there in other browsers so fired up linux box opened in firefox and wow still there working fine :)
