It's just a poor imitation of ext3. Just face it, no one uses Solaris anymore, and DTrace and ZFS are just little trinkets for geeks with too much time on their hands.

Ditch Oracle, Adopt MySQL

If I move off Sun, I might save a couple hundred dollars on my next server. if I move off Oracle (to MySQL), I save MILLIONS. Geez, I wonder what I'll be doing. Perhaps someone should survey Oracle's customers to see how happy they are with MySQL - that would tell you a lot about why Sun's CEO wasn't invited on stage this year.

Red Hat is to BLAME

I was assigned to be part of the team at Red Hat that told Sun we'd port, but only for $100m per year in cash payments. So we basically told them to shine on. I wouldnt blame Sun, I'd blame the arrogance of the Red Hat team who believed we ruled the universe. It's just amazing how easy it is to blame Sun for everything, at least they're inventing stuff.
