My fortnight eating Blighty's own human fart-powder

Andyman

An excellent 'option'

I decided to try out Huel last year, curious to see what it was like while they had an introductory offer on.

One of the reasons I liked the idea was that as a Type 1 Diabetic I should really eat regularly and healthily. After working long hours or driving I got into a rut of not eating and then binging via the ridiculously easy Just Eat app.

Always having this on hand gives me no excuse to skip a meal. I only use it (yes 'use' it Dave Gorman) once or twice a week and it genuinely fills me up. Sure it doesn't taste like egg and chips but when I'm on the move and need to eat - it's brilliant.

Will the looters 'loose' their benefits?

Danny 5 - Would you?

So basically you are saying that if in a situation where you have the choice to commit a crime with the knowledge you would not face consequences, you are unsure of what you would do.

That sounds like the theme behind The Invisible Man, the idea that if you we not have to face the consequences our moral compass will degrade and we will become monsters. An interesting theory to discuss.

Do I believe it? No. Here at my desk at work there are many things I could steal, of high value, and be quite sure I could get away with it.

Ignoring looting in the 'end of the world' scenario I think your argument shows a very real moral weakness, rather than objectiveness.

I would also recommend to your employers that you be trusted with nothing more than a pencil.

Never Going to happen

The raputure simply can't happen. Sure God may be omnipresent but it would be an administrational nightmare. Plus as I recall heaven only has one guy on the door.

Though I'll hold off buying a present for my sisters birthday on Sunday just in case!

Thumb Up

agreed

I was going to post exactly the same thing.

I would say 99% of the time if my mouse 'hovers' over a link then I'm going to click it. I can't see how that information would prove usefull.

Though I can see a point when genetically engineered Google monkeys follow everyone around and report our movements back to HQ - 'He's looking for socks - quick sell him socks!'

More wind!

If you put one in front of the other would it have 15 x 15 effect? In fact could you put a chain of them together and use it to fire balls at people? In fact Is this what the LHC is - a big ring of Dysons?

Megaphone - cos Bart from The Simpsons did the same thing with these.

WTF?

confused?

Why whenever there is a drug related article here on the Reg do all the commentators come out in support of taking drugs? You all seem to have alarmingly nerdy knowledge about all the pro drugs arguments yet hardly anyone comes out to agree that some drugs should be banned. And using alcohol as your crowbar into the pro drugs argument just seems nonsensical, don't we already spend millions treating the side-effects of alcohol related illnesses and the associated anti-social behaviour it causes? Why would we want to introduce a new drug into the mix?

I've gone off on one there, I only menat to ask am I the only IT professional left here who doesn't take illegal drugs?

Err, I don't know about your place of work but there's plenty of things I could do that would warrant disciplinary action but are not illegal.

Table and Pasty

Confusion arose in a meeting I had with some of out American cousins when a discussion item was 'tabled'. As I understand it in UK parlance that means to raise the issue however the yanks thinks it means to dismiss the item from the agenda - d'oh.

Oh and please add pasty. To you or I a delicious snack from Greggs but to Americans it's a nipple tassle. And I'm not going to explain how I dicovered that.

So diabetes is a social handicap?

"In reality, he is a diabetic, chain-smoking 53-year-old"

Erm, I'm diabetic and it doesn't impact on my lifestyle or social interactions.

Can we not stick to just picking on the fatties!

just because a creature can survive the harshness of space doesn't mean they come from there. I daresay a chease and onion pasty could survive the vacuum but I'm pretty sure they come from Greggs
