Headline says fewer will be sold when it is the new PREDICTION that has been lowered compared to the old one. The actual sales is still predicted to be up by almost 58 percent.
Minus 1,7 million says the headline. I get the difference between 229.3 million and 227.4 million to 1.9, so I predict, nay, state that 200 000 tablets have gone missing in this melange of fact and fiction.
I am pretty sure you'll be able to buy different verions of movies etc were you get to pay a premium price to get the version not soiled by ads.
At least this looks like an excuse for Mr Lucas to remaster and re-re-release the Star Wars saga at least a couple more times...
Is it just laziness filming stuff in a "standing letterbox" ratio, or do the manual feature an order that the new owner should use the iPhone that way when filming. It's a grandiose waste of space and unnatural in every sense of the word. Stop it!
OK. So we all know that Yahoo and others on the Internet survive by selling us stuff. So when and where did it become a no-no to say that? Why do you have to talk about "user experience" and such. Dress it up. It's all about selling stuff. From the useful to - mostly - crap. Just like it's always been since the world of commerce took over.
Experience that.

Standing tough under stars and stripes
We can tell
This dream's in sight
You've got to admit it
At this point in time that it's clear
The future looks bright
On that train all graphite and glitter
Undersea by rail
Ninety minutes from New York to Paris
Well by seventy-six we'll be A.O.K.
What a beautiful world this will be
What a glorious time to be free
Get your ticket to that wheel in space
While there's time
The fix is in
You'll be a witness to that game of chance in the sky
You know we've got to win
Here at home we'll play in the city
Powered by the sun
Perfect weather for a streamlined world
There'll be spandex jackets one for everyone
What a beautiful world this will be
What a glorious time to be free
On that train all graphite and glitter
Undersea by rail
Ninety minutes from New York to Paris
(More leisure time for artists everywhere)
A just machine to make big decisions
Programmed by fellows with compassion and vision
We'll be clean when their work is done
We'll be eternally free yes and eternally young
What a beautiful world this will be
What a glorious time to be free

I recall the hard rock outfit Trojan that decided to put those dots above the "o" to get some Scandinavian/Viking(Gothic/Whatever feel on their album cover. Problem is that Tröjan translates as "Sweater" in Swedish. Not that hard rock anymore.
And be careful with those umlauts/dots/"prickar" out there!
I am no expert on statistics but find it impossible to think that you can pick 400 people that statistically represent and correctly reflect the 1 475 000 000 living in the states and countries mentioned.
And see it quoted in media as some serious investigative this-will-happen-for-sure poll... Amazing!
Today I saw a newspaper asking five people if 2 000 USD/1 360 GBP/1 680 Euro is too much to pay for a pair of sneakers.
All adults said no. The young girl asked said "yes, if it is original enough".
The follow up question to her would've been "how do you pay for it?", but it was never asked and I guess she'll pay with one of those phone loans with ridiculous interest rates.
Consumingly yours,
Aaah, the commercials too loud complaint. Very often up for debate here in Sweden as well. And the answer is always something like this:
"But, hey, it's not louder. We just compress the sound to make it stand out and get noticed".
And so it continues...
Someone has to pay, even for the so called "free" stuff. And that someone is - as always - you and me, the viewer.
