I believe that the postcode indicates not only the street, but the side of the street, so a letter from abroad simply addressed to <house number>, <postcode>, UK should be delivered ok.

Hippopotamus is a second declension Latin noun, so the plural in that language is hippopotami. The fact that it came into Latin from the Greek doesn't change the Latin grammar!
