@Trev 2: True if you are connecting direct to web sites, but if you are using the Opera 'Turbo' proxy service, the image assets will be transcoded and piped to your browser in WebP format. Have to say that 'Turbo' proxy is a very useful service when using 3G :-)

I'm not particularly bothered whether this is the iTunes store or Amazon: Andrew McAfee really needs to find something a bit more worthwhile to waste his time on. I guess you *could* go trawling through the 1/2 million items on iTunes trawling for for dodgy purchases but, really, what are you going to find: Barry Manilow? Fart Apps? I can't imagine that it would be feasible to data-mine via this 'security risk' either.

...I'm imagining that this guy sits on his own down the pub (sports bar for you yanks).

About time....

.... just wish my company would implement this sort of policy. Leaving laptop in car = breathtaking stupidity that is pretty much inexcusable. Even if the bloke was pressured into working on his vacation (and that seems to be entirely conjecture), *anyone* who gave a damn about their job would at least attempt to take better care of company equipment. If the hospital has not implemented an appropriate data security policy, then there is certainly a question of where that responsibility lies, but that does not provide *any* excuse for this sort of behaviour.
