Identify yourself
"We cannot begin to know what you're going through and for that we are truly sorry."
Show your remorse by identifying yourself. Perhaps than you may have a better idea of what a which-hunt feels like.

"There will never be another Vista travesty."
I never had a problem with Vista; it worked very well on a dual core system with 8GB RAM. Mind you, I did encounter a few people who had terrible issues with the initial release on laptops. So it was a mixed bag. That said, it was superior to Win 95/98/2000/ME.
"Back in 2007 there was still no real alternatives to Windows. Its such a different playing field now, but MS are still behaving like the old monopoly."
I don't think it is much better. What are the alternatives? Mac OSX? Linux? I could probably cope with OSX (though the price of hardware is prohibitive), but Linux is still a terrible joke for the home user.
"Win8 & Office pricing is a joke. Game Over MS!"
Can't disagree with you.
Perhaps, instead of fussing over something that only exists in their own depraved minds, they should cast their attention to the disgusting ritual of child beauty pageants.
Dolling 5 year old girls up to like like low class prostitutes is little short of paedophilia.
F*ck the pig (metaphorically, of course)
I want to get rid of my television. When it's on, it's usually just playing DVDs or recorded programs on the PVR.
I don't have SKY or Virgin, just bog standard Freeview, and the programs that are worth watching can be counted on one hand. And even those are recorded as they are broadcast at inconvenient times. Sometimes the PVR forgets to record, so then we use iPlayer.
So, hardly any as-it's-broadcast programmes.
Just writing this has persuaded me. Goodbye television!
I walked into the Bluewater Apple store once. It was most unpleasant. Filled with fanbois sweating profusely as they grappled to lay their hands on the latest slab. I'm sure thy would have been rolling on the floor and piddling in delight if there had been room.
I tried out an iPhone. Hated it. Not at all intuitive.
I'm off to trademark piddling in the air in delight.
@Jim - "quit the CHECK and MOM crap"
I'd upvote you 100 times if I could; It's just lazy journalism. The register is going downhill - rather that a port-of-call for IT related news, it's becoming more like TMZ every week.
And what is it with Yanks and their aversion to propositions. "Out on BluRay Monday" WTF is a BluRay Monday?
AVG - bloated, slows machine to a crawl, wants to install toolbars you don't need.
AVAST - increasingly bloated with annoying messages
Comodo Internet Security - was good, but wtf have they done to the latest 64 bit version?
All three protected me handsomely over the years and no malware ever made it past them.
But when I tried MSE, my PC was infected within a few weeks. MSE had great pleasure in telling me the PC was infected, but was incapable of removing the file. In the end I used Autoruns to prevent it running at start up and removed it manually.
Back to Comodo for now.
Microsoft doesn't have a clue.
