Well sort of.....
It appears for the software houses out there, that there is more money to be made in bringing action against copyright infringers and file sharers than in the original sale of the software. I wonder how long it will be before the software houses start ditching their developers for teams of ambulances chasers to make their money through the courts rather than developing a product people would actually like to use
Great news another sicko locked up. Now hopefully because this guy was apaprently an amateur the investigators will be able to identify those that logged in and traded in the images it would be nice to see a whole parade of these bastards walking into a prison and not seen again for a long, long time

Couldn't agree more.
Extremist views on this subject are just as dangerous. On one side of the argument you have comments from people believing this is just another step closer to a police state, where free speech or even dissident thought are punished in the extreme Take this view and you close your eyes to the very real dangers of the modern world. Regardless of what you may believe there are people out there that wish to kill you and are willing to die to do that.
Then you have the other camp who seem to think possession of literature is enough to label and convict a person as a terrorist. Take this view and you close your eyes to the real possibility that the person(s) may have just been curious about the subject or that there is a valid reason for their research.
Just remember we are not privy to the whole story or evidence that was tendered. Certainly the accused in this instance have certainly not exhausted their legal avenues of appeal where the statutes are can be argued and examined in more detail
or is the land of the free starting to sound like Russia. The next thing you know will you have a very suspicious government looking person from the KGB.. I mean the FBI tailing you whereever you go within USA
I wonder what the equivalent is to the siberian salt mines for when they start rounding up all the dissidents,.... oh yeah Guamato bay.
Love the idea, shoe horning the tehcnical stuff into the format of the show would be tough, but I just look at how well they did that for House and the medical content. If push comes to shove (as it should with a BOFH) fall back on the Hollywood old faithful add more violence or sex. Considering it BOFH more violence should always be the first option
Not sure what Mr Whitehorn is on about, 2005 converts the Char types into varchar before before writing unless of course it does this and then writes out to the fixed length anyway. The BI tools they provided in 2000 were a joke, SSIS in 2005 is better but still a long way behind other tools out there Be interesting to see how the tools perform in 2008
Honestly is this a new stage of darwins laws at work? It seems rather than a bigger and better predator to remove the weak from the herd, Darwin appears to be preying on the inate stupidity of some people through the use of "smarter" technology to remove them from the gene pool. I whole heartily support these lemmings efforts in doing just that.
