IMO Flash usage by site owners must be taxed well beyond the costs of traffic and electicity wasted by site visitors.

"For clarity and sharpness, it ranks along with those flashy new OLED screens we've been treated to recently"
Indeed? I've heard a different story (via http://www.mobile-review.com/review/lg-bl40.shtml -- sorry, still no english version, Google Translate to the rescue maybe?):
While BL40's screen is better than that of LG Arena, it's still very far from AMOLED display of e.g. Samsung HD i8910
In all the 123 above comments the only one man (NBCanuck) did mention Hawaii, which doesn't belong to any America (be it Norhtern or Southern), but does to the USA.
So maybe when one sings "G-d bless America" or alternatively "I'm afraid of Americans", this relates not to Hawaiians, and therefore to the Barack Obama neither.
1. Do not forget the old Debian wisdom: a Debian release is ready when it's ready.
2. stop doing blah-blah and go fire at least a single shot 'in our battle with proprietary software' - fix a bug
3. there's no war in fact, and developers are not soldiers aka cannon fodder. You may see Ubuntu ones as that but please do not apply 'a broad pattern of cadence and collaboration' to other intelligent beings
4. per one million of useless managers like you there are two talents like e.g Linus Torvalds and Brad Spengler, and you do not pay either of them (thus I disregard you as useless)
5. go fire as much of stupid monkeys that advised using LSM in The Kernel against PAX/grsec as you can, maybe you'll become relevant at least
Sometimes people need a PowerPC computer for development, tests or builds (e.g. Debian build farm). Funnily enough, battery is typically irrelevant to such uses. If you don't have such needs, why keep an outdated crap around? Just sell it on eBay and invest money in something more up to date, less noisy and power hungry.
Clearly you don't understand the key difference between MOTO and anyone else's phones (like Nokia, Samsung, LG, HTC, E-Ten and so on, don't even mind other Chinese crap like ZTE or Huawei) -- it's in build quality and materials used.
Just try and compare a cheap-plastik soapbox-like Nokia shit^H^H^H^Hphone to e.g. MOTO ZINE ZN5
http://mybookworld.wikidot.com/more_about_c&c/ ? If the MBWE requires tweaking to reduce heat/noise, then it's not relevant to this article's topic.
IMHO any ARM CPU (consuming lt 1Wt BTW) with decent amount of DRAM, some boot flash/ROM, USB host controller and Linux will do the job. And of course, it won't have no stinkin' WD drive connected to the mentioned USB controller when doing this, ever.
Catherine, you are terribly wrong. There's no such thing as Good Company. Or as they used to say in US of A, good redskin is a dead redskin. There MAY be good non-profit organizations though, like FSF, but even they are not good for everyone.
IMHO, people will just get what they deserve - shitty-Telly-Vision[s], bullshit music (like Girls Aloud), crap phones (like Nokia), OSes (you-know-for-yourself), vendors (Siemens), telecoms (pick your local random one, that'll be it 100%) and governments (same here ;)).
Problem isn't about lack of innovation among mobile telecoms/vendors, it's a whole lot more about lack of personality in mobile users: they just don't have their own, very personal opinion, they don't have a feel of style and beauty, they understand nothing in ergonomics being impaired in brain by Windows' GUIs, and of course they can't distinguish good from evil while pretending they can.
2Alan: you are correct WRT the design, but just try to do something like sniffing RADIUS traffic for half an hour with your iPhone/iPod off the ethernet...
2Matt: how well does FreeBSD and/or GNU/Linux work on that blown up Sony UX1XN of yours?
2Gnusmas: do you guys have brains in your company? why not make fanless Q1 (like e.g. Samsung Q40 or legendary Sony X505VP)?
No, it's more like defecating in the tornado :)
I see absolutely no point to invest efforts in something as useless as pascal/delphi always was and as lifeless as it is today. Probably, it could make sense if you add some conceptually new/revolutionary features to the language, otherwise you'd better help improving something more useful like e.g. python/ruby/haskell.
P.S. Especially given The Current Economic Situation
I've bought mine AA1 (8GB SSD, Linux) for approximately $200, while WinXP/HDD model was twice more expensive. I suspect that WinXP license alone adds something like $100 to the price... WRT Aspire One 10" -- I believe that current 8.9" model's frame already has enough space to accomodate 10" matrix, and this would be much more worthwhile investment than putting crap Billy's OS on the AA1.
with support for pixel/vertex/whatever else shaders, with Clippy The EFI Assistant, with JavaEFI(TM) edition for 3rd party applets support, with EFI indexing service ("The one that is supposed to make finding [options in EFI BIOS] quicker, that is controlled by interaction with a cartoon dog that you thought you had turned off") and embedded audio/video player with DRM support for even richier, nicier, beefier luser sexperience...
