C.L.I.T., isn't that an offshoot of the Liberate Apes Before Imprisoning Apes movement?

Already been done...

...by Boro TinTin, the foul mouthed teesside version of Herge's aryan hero. He claims to have had intimate moments with some of the more troll-like denizens of the cartoon TV series, and we also find out that Snowy has a bit of a sausage-dog fetish. Interesting that Herge's estate have ignored this version, perhaps because it's so shit.

The Stargate Connection

Before you start yes I know it's scraping the entertainment barrel but I can't resist! Anyhoo, there's an episode where the team turn up on whatever conveniently human inhabited planet and fly remote control drones, only to find out they are flying them for Nazi's. The America's Army comment from the AC made me think that this move away from actual human contact in war makes it all the more easy for armed services personnel to remain oblivious to the horrors they inflict. What if this tech was availbale for Vietnam, would the veterans anti war movement have even existed, let alone have the gravitas it did if the worst injuries were RSI and soldiers never had to step over the bodies of those they killed? I feel a bit angry/sick just thinking about it to be honest, or maybe that was the Inq's coverage of the spammer suicide...

Writing is so 3000 years ago...

Here's a thought, why bother with actual letters when talking is pretty good, scrap this writing bollocks, it causes nothing but trouble. I want to see ideas represented in picture format like the Maya, possibly aided by interpretive dance cycles to convey the emotions behind the words and the cultural identity of the people speaking them...

I noticed recently that our local Teenage Pregnancy service did a run of leaflets with "R U 13 2 19" on them, surely kids don't see that and go "Ah, now theres a hip young message I can relate to, must go to the local community centre to pick up a bundle of free profilactics so that I might be protected if I strike it lucky with that pretty thing in the summer dress". I'm no young buck but at 23 I'm pretty au fait with text lingo and this just makes me cringe, like the 42 year old dads who blast fall out boy out of the car speakers and think they're cool, or the scumbags who put fancy or foreign phrases like 'au fait' in their posts to make themselves sound important, dickheads.

Oh, wait...

Won't someone please think of the parents?

Seen Dark Knight, enjoyed it, but isn't it a bit silly putting any sort of Advisory cert on any film, if the parents are irresponsible enough is there anything stopping them from taking a 3 year old in? Makes me worry that the gov't are looking at putting the BBFC in charge of rating games next. They ought to get their house in order first, still, I'm hoping for a PEGI system. Addy below for video game ratings system consultation if you can be arsed filling it in...

Who's paying for this then?

I went to Bletchley and it is a fascinating place, undoubtedly all the exhibits there need preserving somewhere the public can still learn from them. Personally I think it should all be moved to the Imperial War Museum, perhaps set up one or two huts for demonstrations of how the codebreakers and techy bods worked. Sorry guys but to refurb and preserve that mansion just for the purpose of being a Museum and venue for board meetings seems wasteful to me, sadly we cannot afford to preserve everything of great historical importance and being a regular visitor to many historical sites I can't see the justification for spending the money there. There are sections of Hadrians wall for example which have never been subject to archaelogical studies, so many suspected Iron Age and Bronze Age sites which get a 3-day time team treatment then get left to groups of local volunteers to look after. It's sad, but for me the building itself is not a priority for heritage money (once the preservation is done someone still has to pay for upkeep) as many sites could have been used, the people who worked there are most important though and should be remembered as such. I would suggest the best way to preserve the main building at all is to place it in private ownership with conditions in the same way that people can buy castles but must maintain a certain level of preservation. This has worked well for a number of previously public owned stately homes.

Also @ Luke, go post this sort of ill-informed twattery on Have Your Say where it belongs.
