Paperback size, dump all buttons except whats needed for navigation, dump the huge plastic surround, make the battery last 3+ months, no drm, survives being dropped/rough handling.
Oh, and £50 or $100 ish, then I'll buy one.

Learn to read: He was referring to the fact that Blu-Ray has not been adopted by the buying public anywhere as quickly or comprehensively as DVD was. DVD was a huge leap in quality over VHS, and it wasnt really the resolution that was the biggest noticeable improvement: it was the stability and reliability of the picture. Unless you have a 50"+ screen, 1080p is un-noticable by all but the most anal.
Hold on a sec...
Skoda may be interested in licencing the tech but they found it was impossible to lower the power of their engines any further. Also, the in-car warning was going to humiliate the would-be theives by laughing at them for stealing such a heap in the first place.
And where is the "Evil robots auto-piloting us all of the edge of a cliff" angle on this!
Could it be that they are speaking of some kind of "parental control" software? Hmmm it's a tough one, where would kids get parental control from?
Hang on a minute, maybe the parents could ask as some kind of moral guardian (crazy, radical, I know) and restrict what their children see and do until adulthood.
And for anybody who says "yes, but the kids are out of control!", I regularly see parents buying 18+ ultra violent computer games for their kids, even after being warned that it is extremely graphic and disturbing.
Some people above getting confused between frame rates and refresh rates.

Some dvd player software has frame interpolation for playing movies, which makes horizonal panning look significantly smoother. Unfortunately it also gives me motion sickness :-(
Im not confusing anything thanks:
Dyslexia causes varying degrees of reading / writing disability. No fault of the sufferer, its a genetic condition and he/she may be a genius but has difficulty in communicating such skills.
A "dumb" individual can be caused by many factors: genetic, upbringing, education, physical injury etc.etc Likewise, its no fault of the sufferer, he/she may be a genius but has difficult realizing their potential because they lack the tools (ie. knowledge) to apply themselves to practical applications.
Don't confuse knowledge with intelligence, what may seem to be a "dumb" person may have a huge IQ. The same goes for many people with mental disabilities, written off as lazy or stupid when infact they are anything but.
If the day-to-day job required a certain amount of reading and writing, then he should NOT have been given extra time. That could result in the lower qualified candidate being awarded the job. The fact that he is dyslexic is a definite disadvantage to a job that requires writing. (and from what I understand, the police force DOES require massive amounts of report filling etc)
Would you give the same extra time to the applicant who had a terrible childhood / parents / teachers through no fault of his own, and as a result was generally slow at reading / writing?
Anti-discrimination policies are fine until they start undermining the fact that humanity thrives on competition. Interviews are supposed to reveal the BEST candidate and discrimination laws are interfering with that fundamental process.
A J Stiles Wrote: To the best of my knowledge, anybody can purchase the necessary parts and schematics to build a digital TV receiver.
This is why its pointless making logical arguments against some people.
Honestly! Who in actual fact is going to do that?
How about the people who live in digital "dead zones" where the signal dosent reach? Don't tell me, they can purchase the necessary parts and schematics to build a very tall aerial.
Once again, GROW UP! Join the real world, then we'll talk.
Im sick and tired of minority whingers shouting about the lack of support for their particular flavour of OS. It makes perfect sense to support the largest userbase first. Besides, support for other OS's is tied up with DRM regulations and restrictions.
Just look at terrestrial digital TV, if you follow your arguments about universal support through, what about all the people with analogue TV's still? They miss out on MOST of the BBC's content.
What about people who don't have computers, should they get a refund relative to the funding the BBC put into web services?
Lets take it to the extreme, I dont like or watch gardening programs so I want a refund of the investment put into making them.
All of you whingers, GROW UP!
