I had an incident once, many years ago. A co-worker took it upon himself to change my screensaver to Marquee, and set the text to something scatological. I responded by changing a line in his .INI files to SHELL=SOL.EXE. Just incase he was clever, I also added TASKMAN.EXE=WINMINE.EXE.
Mine's the tatty one on the end there, thanks.
1. I find it hard to believe that there is such demand for prostitution services over and above what the local labor force is able to supply as to require 25,000 slaves in England alone to fill it. On this basis alone the numbers are suspect.
2. As professions go, a prostitute generally has a higher moral standing than a politician. One only sells their own body while the other attempts to sell everyone's body, property, minds, and souls.
3. "The business of government is to stay in business" and so who can really wonder why they might manufacture an issue or twenty?
NSA is at heart a lawless agency. They believe they have every right to break any and every law so long as it is done in 'The National Interest'. They will never accept any restrictions or oversight on their operations as those could less effective than they are now. They fully believe that the only way to beat some of the worlds worst bastards like Osama or Kim Jong Il is to be just as much of a hardcase bastard.
As an American, I agree that's pretty messed up. But, I can only hope that they are not overly corrupt. For myself, I am sure they already know who I am, where I live, what I make, what I drive, and my favorite types of pr0n. My best and only real defense is to be boring. I'm neither a celebrity nor a millionaire so they really don't care what I read, what I smoke or who I sleep with so long as it's not anyone on their watch-lists. I can't stop them watching, but I can set things up to where any of them who do take an interest in me will be in their supervisor's office having to explain "You spent how many weeks and how many dollars on this guy to get nothing of substance?"
So unless one of them is so corrupt as to be willing to manufacture evidence to justify persecuting me I basically ignore them. I know they are there, I know they are breaking the law routinely, but ... Just a moment, someone at the door...
If we may presume that the PFY has learned anything from the BOFH during his years in the trenches, then the PFY should be a fair bastard himself. So what would a proper bastard do?
Never have made the other four references, for one. Delivered the reference from Simon to an accomplice, along with a script for two. Headed out for an extended lunch when the call (i.e. the bait) was delivered for three. Let Simon think he's putting the screws to the PFY when in all actuality there is no other job, so when the BOFH leaves for it the PFY is left as the new BOFH.
Not that it will last of course. Nobody out-bastards the BOFH (for long).
