IBM vs. Sun
Sun is already in trouble. Our testing showed a 4x advantage per CPU with IBM Power6 over Sun's latest CPU's, under our application and database load. This meant that when evaluating new server purchases, Sun could have GIVEN us the database servers, but the difference in Oracle licensing costs would have still made it more expensive than purchasing IBM servers. So I'm in the process of configuring five new Power6 based p570/MMA servers...
