Taito's Double Dragon

Tom Clark

Good game != good film

There was a film based upon this as well...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Double_Dragon_(film)

It's possibly the most shocking piece of celluloid vomit I've ever had the pleasure of watching.

The game was, and still is, awesome tho.

Ten movies inspired by video games

Old RPGs

Personally, I enjoyed Hitman and the first MK. Plus - for those who mentioned SF - The animated movie... I see you and raise you a Tekken - the animated movie.

Aaaaaanyhow. What I was going to say is that I'm still waiting for someone to buy the rights to all the old LucasArts games. Curse of Monkey Island, The Film? (ok, so that's basically Pirates of the Caribbean). Day of the Tentacle? Loom? Grim Fandango?

They would all make awesome films.

Beer - because you all owe me one when Boll reads this and makes a fortune.

Leaked Genius Bar manual shows Apple's smooth seductions

This reminds me very much of a time recently when I went into an Apple Store in London and asked a sales droid if they had any top-spec Macbook Airs on display. When asked why, I told him it was because I wanted to know if they would run the full Adobe Suite simultaneously without stuttering. The blank look I received reminded me of an android trying to process a logic bomb.

Battery?

I've pre-ordered my S, but beginning to get worried that not one of the reviews / hands-on I've seen has mentioned real-time battery life. It's all well and good having a phone which can sing and dance and knit a jumper while making the tea, but it's just a doorstop if it won't stay on for more than 10mins.

What about us youngsters?

No Bill & Ted? or Wayne's World? Both would surely appear higher in the list than Tenacious D.

Economy of scale...

At last count, there were ~660,000 bicycles in Amsterdam - a city with a population of ~780,000.

I think it's fair to assume that finding a bicycle in Amsterdam is not a problem and therefore your comparison is unfair.

Assuming London's population is currently ~7,750,000 you would need ~6,550,000 bicycles to achieve the same 'flawless operating system' of Amsterdam.

I think you'll find that eating Venison while watching Bambi would be more appropriate.

Domino?

Indeed... seeing her in Domino is enough to suggest that she should never ever ever go near an action film again.

US spooks want 'stand off' biometrics-harvesting iPhones

Joke

they're joking, surely...

"operators are able to quickly and easily capture high quality images of people"...

Obviously whoever wrote that has never actually used an iPhone - the image quality is appaling and invariably all you get is a picture of the floor!

what about the SE X1?

... when (if ever) it hits our shelves?

I can't help but think that SE have missed a trick by keeping this phone under wraps for so long - from everything i've heard about it, it will be the ultimate iPhone killer.

Paris - coz she's the trend-setter and probably has 4 iPhones.
