I imagine that if I had a working LENR device, someone in australia waving 200k in my direction wouldn't be much of an attention magnet.
Speculation either way is a waste of time until we're in a position to get the process scientifically verified. When we open that box, all these possibilities will collapse in to a single state and the e-cat will either be dead or alive.
What about the world famous 'Symbian Baked Potato Simulator' where you got an oven door view of a foil wrapped King Edward going through a 90 minute roasting. The 'imagine the smell' tag line justifies the £5 outlay alone.
You also forgot the '90's smartphone theme' app that comes installed and active by default with all Symbian phones.
Superb as it is - I don't think the iPhone4 does change everything - again. The HTC Wildfire does though. Not in terms of pushing the overall feature boundary - but in the bang for buck arena it's going to be kicking arse. At this price point, the HTC Wildfire sets a new standard which will probably change the shape of the market.
When I'm paying half what I would pay for an iPhone contract - plus with no outlay for the handset - it's an easy decision to make.
I'm not getting an iPhone .... but I'm starting to feel sorry for Steve Jobs. You can have a free bumper or send your phone back for a refund - or stfu.

I've had free video calling on my E71 (wifi or 3g) via Fring for a couple of months now (ignoring the inbuilt expensive route via my operator).
Why FAIL?
Video calls need you to hold the phone at distance and talk over speakerphone. Calls become public and I've found 75% of the time, the location I'm in drowns out the conversation - rendering the call useless. Combined with artifacts and choppyness - the novelty soon wears off.
The alternative is to carry a set of headphones with a mic around in your pocket just in case you get a video call to guarantee that you can hear each other speak. Who's going to bother?

Assuming that you're alluding to fractional reservation, updates in Data Ontap means that there are a variety of ways to provision and lun based storage that negate this. Get facts straight before quoting from yesterdays newspaper!

In terms of technology - Microsoft have nothing over their competition. It's all down to their desktop dominance over the last decade. They'll need to come up with more than Windows 7 and mobile to stop their ongoing erosion.
With the introduction of microphones to surveillance cctv systems - whether we're on the net or not, we can be monitored. When RFID chipping comes in they'll be able to record and catalogue everything done and said automatically. Hopefully they will add some kind of olfactory snooping next so I can punish the monitoring staff with some silent but deadly retribution.
As the governments de facto stance is that we're all suspects - it's no surprise that they're throwing this kind of crap at us. I'm waiting for the day that VPN systems need to be licensed and the keys shared with (or even provided by) the government.
The good news for IT contractors is that - as providing secure communications for terrorist networks is going to require a bit more thought - Al Quaeda will now have to pay a much higher rate. In spite of the credit crunch .. the gravy days are back again.

The prospect excites me about as much as flushing wads of my own cash down the crapper. Upgrading to the next level was yesterdays fun ... todays fun involves a nun, a rubber chicken and a copy of Sun Tzus 'Art of War'.
No matter how hard I tried to get on with it ... Vista was great at pissing on my cornflakes and that was about the sum of it. If it was a perfume, the advertising would probably be "Vista ... catch a waft of pointlessness".
I hope they get the priorities right for Windows 7 - and ensure that they take all the shortcuts to useful functionality and give them new confusing names rather than provide driver support for hardware that is more than 2 months old.
It used to be the case that you paid your money .. you got your ticket and you travelled from A to B. Now we have to be profiled, traceable objects that can be scrutinised and measured. It's an insidious culture ... and this is the thin end of the wedge.
I think the next time I pay for transport .. it will be a one way ticket out of this paranoid dump of a country.
Not surprising China gets a mention. After analysing the IP addresses of people trying to relay off my mail server I found that I could kill 95% of the problem by blocking addresses from this country. Subsequent checking of the logs shows all manner of IP detritus seeking to find "exploit nirvana" on my humble fixed IP.
Perhaps I have it all wrong and the friendly folk of that nation are just trying to reach out and touch the western community in anticipation of forthcoming olympic games!
