Apple vows to add racially diverse EMOJIS after MILEY CYRUS TWITTER outrage

Clinton

Colour?

Are these people serious? Apple's response is just as clueless as the original request. Unicode DOESN'T SPECIFY COLOUR! As has been mentioned above, all of my "emojis" are green.

Camera issues

It seems to me that iPhone users frequenty produce upside-down photos, including those posted in this article. I don't seem to have that issue on Android. Anyone with an expanation?

Also I hear it's very popular in the Dominican and Japan.

A few thoughts

I didn't see it mentioned. You may want to cover the magnets and contact points with some sort of conductive low-temperature grease to ensure they don't freeze together.

May also be a good idea to rig the wires forward of the connectors (in relation to the plane) so you have some forward momentum at the break-away point.

I wouldn't know. This article and the two linked in it don't provide any numbers, just vauge statements about other unnamed values.

Feeding the Trolls

"To be honest, I didn't even bother reading the article."

"Looks like they're trying too hard to compete with DisUnity in order to try to win back Shuttleworth."

Had you read the article you may have noted that Gnome3 has been in development for 5 years, much longer than Unity has been and clearly not around solely to compete with Ubuntu.

"Quite offputting to see the direction the linux desktop is heading in. I much prefer usability over looks."

Also if you had been reading you may note that the whole point of Gnome3 is usability via improved work flow and reduced clutter; not looks.

Hydropower you say?

Most new 2009 EU powerplant was wind oops, gas

Clinton
Stop

Not so bad

"'Renewables account for 62% of the new electricity generation capacity installed in the EU in 2009' ... we see that in fact far more energy will be generated by new gas-fired equipment (28 Terawatt-hours each year) than by new wind (20 TWh/yr) or solar (5.6 TWh/yr)."

If your numbers are correct then I wouldn't say that "farm more" energy is gas-fired. Your numbers show two renewables compared to gas being at 47% of the total. Not the numbers reported by the EU by any means, but not exactly "far more" either.

Thousands or more zombies in the each bot net and the security firms can't let a couple honey pots send a few thousand e-mails to add to the billions that are already sent? Isn't it more important to get the research data then to worry about spreading the bot to a few more machines? Quit being high and mighty and get the job done!

Firefox 3.5 - it's not a 'web upgrade'

Clinton
Thumb Up

Some old, some new, some improved

"Next comes Tear Off Tabs, which - as in Apple's Safari - allows tabs to be dragged into a separate browser window. A neat touch is Recently Closed Tabs and Recently Closed Windows, which gets you back where you were after accidentally closing a page."

Moving tabs between windows and re-opening recently closed tabs has been around for a while now. The new version of tab movement is much more efficient (doesn't have to reload the site) and the new recently closed windows is a nice feature. I've saved myself, and friends, many times with the Recently Closed Tabs feature.

I find that Firefox 3.5 loads faster and opens new tabs faster than Firefox 3.0. All-in-all, a great release.

OpenOffice lags Microsoft Office?

"With an email and productivity offering of its own - and given OpenOffice lags Microsoft Office by years - the omens for OpenOffice are not good, even though - Schwartz claimed - "the point's not lost on Oracle we are adding three million users a week.""

Exactly how does OpenOffice.org lag years behind Microsoft Office? It doesn't have a gimicy interface? I doesn't support the [non]-standard OpenXML which Microsoft themselves don't even support? OpenOffice.org has even done a great job porting over proprietary MSOffice crap.

Defenition of a Trojan

A trojan is an exploit that is disguised as something you want. You have to run it for it to be installed. So it's a trojan.
