1Password has none, KeePass has none... So why are there seven embedded trackers in the LastPass Android app?

keepass - which version?

Prompted by this, I looked at what is available in the fedora 33 repositories - I have these choices - keepass keepassx keepassx0 keepassxc - and no indication in dnf info of why I should choose any of them - For those using keepass* , which version, and why?

High-resolution display output or Wi-Fi: It seems you can only choose one on Raspberry Pi 4

Re: Even the zero pisses on a PDP11

Someone has done a pdp-11 front panel for a pi running simh - it looks good to me: https://obsolescence.wixsite.com/obsolescence/pidp-11

Fun fact: GPS uses 10 bits to store the week. That means it runs out... oh heck – April 6, 2019

The company I used to work for (an Airline) had their own NTP servers driven from GPS units on the roof. They were installed last century. I wonder if they still use them. I guess we'll find out....

Begone, Demon Internet: Vodafone to shutter old-school pioneer ISP

Re: Farewell Old Fiend.

Me too. been with demon since 1994 - starting with tenner-a-month dialup, and now adsl over a bt line. Stayed mainly through lazyness, but now it looks like I'll have to actually do something. (I have my own domain name, so with a fixed-ip address, I've not used the ...demon.co.uk name for some time, so no great loss).

So suggestions?, still keeping my adsl router and (a) fixed-ip. Zen looks to be

a possibility....

xterm

once, in the early days of my exploring what unix could do (AIX in this case, I think), I found myself needing on a regular basis starting two xterm sessions at the same time . I know, I thought, I'll create a shell script to do it. Not a problem, until I chose to name it 'xterm' - oops.

#! /bin/ksh

Take-off crash 'n' burn didn't kill the Concorde, it was just too bloody expensive to maintain

Paul Barnett

Re: Was it really only the maintenance costs?

The story I heard (no proof, sorry) was that after the crash, and the fixes to fuel tanks etc to make them stronger and more debris-resistent, the extra weight meant shorter range. Still enough for jfk-lhr, but no longer enough for jfk-cdg. As you can imagine, Air France would not be happy no longer being able to fly their premier route but BA still able to, So AF talked to the french governement who then had words with aerospatiale, who then suddenly decided it was uneconomic to continue providing spares, thus ending Concordes flying life.

And if this is true, then Richard Branson's offer to continue flying it was just a publicity stunt, as many of us suspected at the time.

What went wrong at Tesco Bank?

Paul Barnett

Who's money?

I'm sure the real answer is that the customers will have to pay for it anyway, but legally, was the money stolen from Tesco Bank, or Tesco Bank's customers? or is it not that simple/

Thumb Down

no printer.

I was tempted - sounded like an entertaining way to spend a Sunday

morning (and I like coffee).

It seems that although I can buy a ticket online, I must then print it.

I don't own a printer, so that's that.

Ok, I'll bite. what exactly is the difference between a potential and actual risk?. Or are they just fancy ways of saying high risk and low risk?
