Blu-ray brains create 3D taskforce

The gimmick that won’t die.

Could the boffins kindly stop wasting their time trying to force me into wearing glasses over my glasses. And just invent “Better than life” or some kind of Holodeck.

@Stu. Couldn’t agree more.

I bought a PS3 for exactly those reasons. Sure I miss the mouse and keyboard controls. But I got sick of spending hundreds on a card that required a good system in the first place.

The second I can use a mouse on console FPS or RTS games I won’t ever need anything more powerful than a Pentium 3 laptop.

With consoles offering email and the net, it can only be a matter of time before WASD is an option.

Absolutely Fabulous ups sticks to LA

To be fair.

The US Office has turned into a great show. And I'm enjoying their version of Life on Mars way more than I expected. Both of them are shown on the child friendly networks. So this could work.

I know we give the Yanks a bit of a hard time when it comes to certain things. But for my money they beat us hands down with TV.

Not interested.

I’m usually one of the first to jump on new technology band wagons. But not this time. I’m sure opticians will sell filters for my glasses so I’m not wearing two pairs. But it still seems a little pointless unless you have a massive screen.

Now could the boffins kindly stop wasting their time on this and get back to inventing holodecks, Better than Life, or the Matrix.

Man cops to $1m phony bar code shoplifting scheme

@AC Nothing new.

I also had “friends” that pulled that same stunt with the old tapes games. Later on when we all owned Amigas they’d buy a game and copy it. Then format the disk before taking it back saying it didn’t work. Unless we had the same “friends” it’s now clear why Boots don’t have a PC and console section.

Reason.

It’s good thing they’re doing this for the children.

The more cynical of us may have thought it was a way to screw over any Brit who bought cheap imports.

Thousands more City workers to lose jobs, says CBI

@AC

If your radical no servant idea was a way to eliminate Chavs, then I will at least respect its intention. However I think it is more likely to result in a generation of well off children unwilling to dirty themselves by making “things the retail sector can sell”

@AC and console gaming.

The only reason I bother with PC gaming is that RTS and FPS games are better played with a mouse and keyboard. The second consoles games all support keyboards and mice my PC will need a lot less upgrading.

Spare the techs.

As a hard working member of EDS UK I wellcome our new HP masters. However I'd be grateful If they could limit their cutting to the countless levels of management.

BT starts threatening music downloaders with internet cut-off

Be honest.

I personally use the various methods to download US TV shows. Rather than waiting an age for them to come out in the UK (Dexter, Sarah Connor, etc). I know this is wrong but do it anyway. Now most of us have a bunch of justifications for downloading music and movies. But deep down we all know we shouldn’t be doing it.

I’m not saying I’m happy with the BPI or BT but lets be honest we’re screwing them at least as much as they’re screwing us.

Oh, with respect to the Linux comments that get mentioned as a way of point out not all P2P is illegal. If just 10% of P2P traffic was Linux downloads Microsoft would be in serious shit.

B**locks we do.

And by we I mean the 3 work mates I've asked.

It’s one thing to see Nike or Budweiser logos on Billboards during a racing or football game. They can even make it seem more authentic. It’s another thing entirely to include blatant product placement and adverts on something you have already spent £40+ on.

Maybe they could release two versions. A cheaper ad-supported one and a full price one.
