Another measure of time which could throw the "six earth hours" into disrepute.
I am, of course, talking about microsoft time which is completely different to earth time.
You can all prove this for yourselves by transferring some files from one place to another and keeping an eye on the time remaining. Ever noticed how earth time passes much quicker than Microsoft time. When it says 1 hour remaining, you might just be able to get a cup of tea made and the job will be done.
Paris cos she likes it quick......

We have a cheaper alternative right here in the good 'ol United states of Kingdom.
A mile below the earth and well away from any reporters is a similar device doing similar work. All beit on a smaller scale and working with "in the wild" particles.
If you ever find yourself near this place, which is close to Whitby, then please try to organise a trip down the mine as it really is fasinating. It's hard to imagine you are so deep you can feel the heat from the earths core on the walls.
Paris as she deffinately likes it deep.......I'll get me coat ;-)
it misses it's target......when does the beam stop? At least with a rifle or mortor round they will eventually stop but this has the capability to go on for quite a while. Imagine.........
Sir this is Commander Ivan Tobeoutahere at the International Space Staion, I think we have a situation. One of the solar panels has just been shot off by a frikken laser which appears to have originated from the Iraqi frikken border. Please advise........
Mines the coat with the mirrow in the inside pocket to deflect the ray....
On the BBC news site this story is listed next to the one of the guy convicted on converting replica firearms to fire real rounds and he also gets life.
Ironic as McKinnon's life will probably end meaning life (or most of it) whereas Grant Wilkinson will be "sentenced to a minimum term of 11 years" for provinding guns that have been linked to murders.....
So you hack some computers and you get life, you create weopons and provide them to people who use them to kill people and you get a poxy 11 or so years.
When is our law system going to dish out realistic sentences instead of the feeble excuses they do now.....
Mines the coat with the baseball bat in the inside pocket ready to administer some street justice
Is it just me or is this just common sense to protect this type of data. Policies, Standards, laws and contractual obligations don't even come into it. It's sensative data so protect it. FULL STOP FFS
It's the same as protecting stuff like the PIN number for your own bankcard. It is just SOOOOOOOOOO simple it's a joke when stuff like this happens again and again and again. A lot of people should be sacked for this kind of balls up.
On the bright side I wouldn't mind being a contractor charged with sorting it all out.....chi ching as the cash rolls in.
Paris as she certainly knows how to handle her sensative details ;-)
the memorial flight when I was stationed at RAF Marham. The pilot used to nip up tp Waddington to pick the Vulcan up and come back to Marham to test run the display. Very impressive and oh so loud. Car alarms going off all over. The display was to be for the 75th anniversary of the RAF and she had Farewell painted inside the bomb bay doors. Did her party piece of cruising along the runway at a slow nose up kind of way and then sticking her on her tail at max chat for a climb straight up through the clouds. Fantastic.
I think I am right in saying the Vulcan has a smaller radar footprint then a Tornado F3...
I carried out an investiagtion on a machine a few years ago where images appeared under a particular profile and but were placed there by another profile.
It was interesting, even more so when a document which had only been printed (not saved) was presented to the suspect. Believing if the document was printed without saving it then closed Word there would no record. Enter Encase to re-create the document which (in this case) proved the suspect had placed the images under the other (his bosses) profile.
Great fun
