Who'd have thought it? Good old 4.2.2b being ported back to *nix after 20(ish) years. When I looked after it that code was running on at least 10 different flavours of Unix plus Netware, OS/2 and NT.
One slight correction: I believe Sybase kept the right to market an NT version and to call it Sybase SQL Server. It was only after a couple of years when "SQL Server" became identified with Microsoft that it was rebranded as ASE.
I guess I was thinking more along the lines of "Why encrypt every field in a database?" rather than "Why encrypt everything associated with the XYZ application?".
I guess there is a problem if any of the unencrypted fields allowed free format data, or if any of the encrypted fields are used as indexes.
Would I be correct in assuming the laptop was suspended, the accused "resumed" it, the border control guys saw something they didn't like, they shut it down and then - when they re-booted it - they found they needed to re-enter a pass-phrase?
Surely some amazing incompetence here?

Yes, mine is the one with Ubuntu 8.10 desktop release DVD in the pocket.....
A value of zero GGI indicates "inequality" (males totally dominating; women do no work, earn no money, don't appear at all in politics etc). A GGI of 1 equals "equality" (women just the same as men in these areas).
?? What about all those cultures where men "dominate" but women do all the work ??
