Federal obstruction of justice?

So it's pretty sad that the only felony is for getting rid of something after the 'crime' (I would call it a security issue on Palin, not a crime). Does this get thrown at anyone who discards a weapon, or washes their hands or clothes after committing a crime, thereby making an investigator's job *harder* and apparently obstructing justice?

I'm don't give a damn about the Lockerbie bomber release or any subsequent BP drilling rights in Libya, but also sure as hell don't want BP pumping hundreds of thousands of barrels of oil into our waters..

As for supposedly stealing "Jet and stealth technology from BAE," it's funny how much kit the world buys from Lockheed and the US government. The RAF would wet themselves to get their hands on an F-22.. equal to the Typhoon my ass.

As others have noted, this is common practice in the south and midwest of the US. A dealer near my home in Arkansas has a yearly sale where he gives out 12 gauge shotguns with a purchase of a truck.
