Losers
That's probably the closest the men in there could have come to actually having sex with a woman. How sad.

So now we have to like Bill because he interacts with someone many people find funny in an "ordinary people" situation? And then conclude that the company he represents is lovable too? And that therefore their latest operating system must be bought immediately to replace old XP?
This commercial was so unfunny (shower with your shoes on? eat a computer?) and meaningless... they must have thought that just putting JS in the clip would make it fantastic, but it seems you need a little more than that.
I can't believe how little credit HWL is getting in the comments above. Surely you must have read more articles written by him in which he defends standards. True, he works for one of MS's (small) competitors - that doesn't make his argument invalid a priori though. As long as companies have to keep IE because its "compatibility mode" is the only way to use their intranet, they'll never switch to another product. So there's Microsoft trying to keep a dominant position with a fairly dirty trick... does it matter that Opera's CTO is the one pointing this out?
"OSS engine = many developers = innovation + security
Closed engine = only those you can find and hire = not so much innovation or security"
Opera disproves your point: small company, closed-source, still creating one of the most secure and innovative browsers.
Moreover, I think "those you can find and hire" still equals "many developers" when you're talking about Microsoft's IE department. Just out of curiosity, are there any numbers available on how many people actively contribute to FF and IE development?
I once had a Philips Ozeo phone with excellent battery life, a scroll wheel that was so much better than the arrow keys you see nowadays and a few ringtones that would make people say "hey, that's a nice ringtone" - have you ever heard that before? ;-)
Unfortunately, Philips have given up the idea of being a significant mobile phone manufacturer, so they don't even sell their products in their country of origin. :-( A shame, if you ask me.. could this be the affordable, simple yet feature-rich phone I was waiting for to finally drop my buggy Benq-Siemens?
Many of the comments above make me believe that their authors have never worked or even been in a scientific environment. To the person saying you should look at raw data: where do you think the data comes from and why would your or my interpretation be any better than that of someone who's been studying the subject for many years, knows how information was acquired, knows the history of his field of knowledge and has access to colleagues woldwide who can give him a second opinion?
You got to love all those remarks about how the government and scientists are there to scare us all so they can stay in power/make a living/whatever.
"This is still used in the rest of Europe, but they too are relenting and allowing American culture to wash their own away."
In which countries is this happening? In Dutch, a "miljard" is 10^9 and there is no sign of this changing. When we speak English, we translate "miljard" as "billion".
