Qinetiq strike action could increase risk to British troops

Boeing UK????

Boeing have a massive staff base in the UK if the work on the Chinooks had been given to them it would have been done in the UK with UK staff.

And having worked with QinetiQ many times, a strike will not effect their productivity in anyway! they are the most useless company in the Defence market!

Here is hoping that that go bankrupt!

Good Article!

Completely agree with the sentiment, BAE have too much power over the Government. But: "But the Treasury people know: if they thought it would cost more to cancel than it would to carry on, they'd never have tried to cancel."

You have obviously never come across the commercial people within MoD. They probably have only just read the cancellation clause!

The basic problem is that the Treasury approved procurement "process" used in MoD (CADMID) has been in operation for many years and simply doesn't work! It has taken a team of nearly 200 people (nearly half are consultants) 8 years to run the precurment process for DII, and they achieve nothing! Complete waste of money!

Eurofighter's team is only 40 people, but still useless!

Can you talk and drive?

Couple of corrections

AgustaWestland are owned by Italians.... Selex and currently they are building helicopters for the Americans in the UK because Lockheed cant master the technology needed!

General Dynamics UK won the FRES project because most of the electronics inside is part of its other big UK MoD contract Bowman (and the bowman project that is 7 years late and according to some commentators it has bankrupted GD UK 5 times over as the MoD wrote a good contract for once! Unlike the once given to EDS for £6bn for DII which is now closer to £10bn!) But Fres was going to be built in the UK...

accessibility standards

"One third of sites do not meet accessibility standards for those with disabilities - the Committee wants this fixed by 2011."

The governemtn accessibility standards are a joke... if you impliment them you break every GUI and Web Useability rule out there... it is a bad thing if this happens!

Just look at transport direct: http://www.transportdirect.info/web2/

it meets all the standards ;)
