Jumbo-jet ray cannon in missile-vape success

Electrical Lasers

All laser facilities such as NIF, Omega, Titan, Trident, Vulcan, HELEN, Orion and LMJ use little diode lasers or desktop laser basically to start it off and then use rods made of glass (eg Nd:YAG) to give you the pulse - chemical lasers aren't much more powerful, indeed all of the above mentioned lasers are way more powerful than the ABL with Omega, Vulcan and Orion, for example, being a billion times more powerful owing to the fact that they are petawatt systems.

Granted all of the above systems are pulsed, not CW like the ABL, but certainly 'electrical lasers' are there.

My Thoughts

I think the font size and font choice is absolutely fine, don't worry about it.

As regards to the scrolling, I don't mind that at all, I think you've come up with a good way of doing it - similar to the BBC infact as you've got some stories at the top, a bar of editorials or popular stories then a bunch of less well read / less important stories below. I think it works well.

...and the constant width? As a web designer I know the pros and cons of a fixed width -vs- dynamic width in a page layout - I think you've chosen well.

Above all: it looks good!

US: BAE 'could have' pirated our secret Stealth 3.0 tech sauce

Thomas Guymer

Here here...

Firstly, at AC:

I agree, so much UK technology gets sent to the US but they cry when one guy in an office *thinks* BAE got some US tech - oh boo hoo!

Secondly, I love the last paragraph on page 2:

"But of course that isn't true, as everyone involved will tell you. BAE - without any reference to information it had been given as a result of the F-35 programme - is simply able to develop working Stealth planes for approximately one or two per cent of what it cost the USA." - and in only a couple of years! Nice one BAE!

Good article none the less, lets just see if the US can manufacture any evidence to back up their claims.

Good Article

Good article, well written and thought out. I agree with everything you say. I also think that whoever decided to send those forces out with no cover should be made an example of and lessons should be learnt.

However, what I think should happen and what does happen are two different things.
