"I use a encrypted VPN traffic to both work systems and into clients systems"
They will not look encrypted VPN traffic. They almost certainly would not be able to break the encryption.
"I have to say that I know just how much extra logging is done (for "quality research") which will mean my work traffic will be in the hands of a now private company - who can/will sell this onto my clients competitors."
No they won't.
I have two bright security lights that shine into my back garden from 500yds away. These are not your small household lamps but very powerful industrial ones. They appear to have no real use or function, I've complained to my local council but have had no response. They just aren't set up to deal with this. Until there is is route by which complaints can be accepted, moderated and actioned locally there will be little change.
How About a new petition along the lines of;
We the undersigned have no faith that the recent statement from No10 Re Phorm does anything to protect our rights to privacy or clarify the situation as to the legality of Phorm and related systems.
I'm sure that someone else could put this into better words and submit it.
Oh! So tired. So very tired - of the same old shit.
Ev'rybody's talking about
Gatesism, Jobsism, Tuxism, Freeism, Macism, Pcism
This-ism, that-ism
Isn't it the most
All we are saying is give peace a chance
All we are saying is give peace a chance
A company releases a tool that hopefully will make third party code a little safer to run on their operating system. What do we get, same shit different day.
Give it a rest, for fucks sake.
It there's any chance it will make computing safer for all of us then you should applaud it. But do you? No, far better just to have another meaningless pop as per usual. Well I hope you feel better for it.
We are not all Microsoft fan boys, Apple fan boys or Tux wearers but if our friends, parents and colleagues are saved from having their pc's pawned by the use of this tool then it was worth while.
Even if all this tool does is to get someone else to think "that's a good idea" and write a better one, then it's still been a good use of resources.
And they're making it open source - So for fucks sake stop moaning and if you think you can do better, then write one yourself. Or write one for your own operating system of choice, because I bet it probably needs one....
I've had one of these and it's not the "best" by a long chalk. I've recently sold mine and gone for a low pixel count but better camera model.
Have a look here for a better review of the coolpix and good cross model comparisons.

This is one of those fairly meaningless stats without any reference.
So that's one a day out of how many owned by the Gov?
1 a day sounds bad but is it?
Recent studies have shown that at US airports approx 12000 laptops are lost each week., that's over 600000 a year.
UK and EU Airports also have a problem with approx 4000 being lost each week, Heathrow accounting for 900 per week on average.
Many web sites and people depend apon free services in "the cloud" and then whinge when they get crap service.
MORAL:
There's no such thing as a free launch. (sic)
I suspect that most of the whingers are under 30, many older and more experienced folk wouldn't trust their data (without backup) to any free service no matter who it was from.
Fujitsu took over from HP as the service provider for the Cabinet Office's IT last year. I'm not sure if they do No 10 as well, but I know that certain functions are shared.
Given Fujitsu's performance generally is it any surprise that things have gone tits up?
PARIS - because if anyone knows about going tits up ...
I've got a Liberal view when it comes to software copying. If I've got a program and a friend would like to try it then I have little compunction in giving them a copy, as long as it's for non-commercial use. However; I have never and would never make any money out of such a transaction as personally I believe that it crosses a line. Therefore, good on them for locking this guy away. If I charged people for for other people's work then I would expect a similar fate.
Better to charge/convict people like this rather than someone who downloads a few music tracks for their own pleasure..
And your point is?
1.MS are W***kers?
2. Abode are better at fighting crime?
3. You are a person that if a business decides not to take up your complaint against
a third party thinks that all of them are F**tards?
4. You are the sort of person who always turns any article about anything into an
anti-Microsoft rant. Maybe that's why your an Anonymous Coward.
