I finally got round to putting CM7 with the Honeybread theme on my Galaxy S2 last week.

There are a couple of bugs here and there (as I expected, it is a nightly build) but overall I am very impressed.

With Touchwiz I had to have loads of features turned off (live wallpapers etc) to try and make the battery last but so far CM7 is coping far better, even though I've got pretty much all the bells and whistles turned on.

That's great, it would be good if more hots took the same stance, and it's great that the site owners themselves have (so far) supported you.

The only problem would be if (when?) all 3 of the currently interested providers do implement this system.

Presumably these ecommerces sites you host are geared towards to UK market (just an assumption on my part here)? If so, how many ecommerce site would be happy with their hosts blocking 70% of their potential market?

That's the only fly in the ointment I can see in it for now, but it is stil a strong stance to take. If enough sites took this stance (expecially a couple of big sites such as ebay) then customers would be leaving the said ISPs in their droves, and it would be the best way to hammer home to issue.

Have you contact the BBC, Channel 4, The Guardian and, of course, our own El Reg about them doind a story on this?

For a lot of people, just seeing a news story that parts of the web will be closed to them due to these actions would be enough.

Yeah, I've been trying Safari for windows for a few weeks, and it is a nice browser, although not without it's problems.

The bonus on it is that it's default setting is to only only cookies from sites you go to, not the 3rd party ones.

For example, if I went to thisisanexample.com (a site which makes use of googleanalytics ads) it will allow a cookie from thisisanexample.com but you won't get any cookies from google etc.

Ideally Firefox would introduce the same default settings (or at least the ability to change to those settings) as it is the better browser overall.

Well, the most ideal situation would be to beat Phorm into bancruptcy and send the message that our browsing histories are not for sale... Not now, not ever!
