its all good and well to have this tool that brings us all together... but.. alas.. how long before people get sick of it or work out that all this private [cough] info is stored for life...
once the party is over - a few players will hang around but the masses will have thinned out.. its real value will be realised. for now.. it's a cool website. It's value seems to be just the number of people with accounts [as opposed to users] - 50 billion.. Go Goldmans... we know we can trust you with this...
60 billion... pass the bong to the next VC...
perhaps in the not too distant future... people with work it all out.. perhaps not BUT Goldmans with fix it just right!
After following Nokia around for many years talking up Symbian as a platform for potential revenues... all i can say is good luck those still prepared to listen to the various marketing groups within the company. They had a window of opportunity BUT with a process thick as molasses and expensive.. it was more just a revenue center for Nokia. Apple kicked things off without trying to screw developers - that's why there are so many. Factor in the joy that is Apple Development tools [Symbian.. shame on you..]. Having a single device helped a lot... have a look a the numerous screen sizes, OS versions etc that symbian requires you to support and it's no better than j2me.
Lastly.... look at the absolute incompetence of Nokia to put together and manage a 'sensible' market place.. simply a joke. this is what - their 4th attempt? All this from the big boy in the phone market block - I put it down to arrogance and incompetence.
10th of November I will be nowhere near Amsterdam - although perhaps they will be offering more that just recycled marketing material - perhaps Amsterdam's legendary coffee shops will help to lift developers spirits also..
hope it works for those who go.
I got this not after apples update... i am sure it was the Office update... now Word hangs so often i am using either Tetedit, Page or NeoOffice. Itunes hangs now often and once then happens.. the system never shuts down but needs to be forced.
Seems also to happen when Vmware is running... this was updated a few weeks ago also. Not Word 2008 + Wmare dont work...
Trying to hold off a re-install as too busy to piss around so simply finding work arounds...
this all reminds me of windows....
I am impressed with the slingplayer support. Impressed also with Sling providing a guide to make it work.
Most of all - I am impressed with the effort of the Wine team [and associated initiatives such as Crossover/Darwine etc.]
I have watched WINE for the last 10 years - and while it is still unable to run voipcheap for me - I think it is a truly impressive feat [as noted above].
Well done guys
P.S. Who's Paris? - I bet she doesn't use voipcheap to make calls
I have been looking for a solution for all my photo's. Slides are well covered but i have been unable to find an automatic [we all have heaps of old photo's right] photo feeder. Load them up... press batch scan and wait.
I was so surprised this Christmas when buying digital photo frames.. but unable to locate automatic photo scanner.
Tell me i'm wrong.
