UK2 brings support back to Blighty, culls execs

and now

...can they get rid of the charge for "catchall" email forwarding on domains - surely money for old rope?

UK to rely on mobile operators for universal broadband

Stop

@Tom Wood

I don't think everyone who lives "out in the sticks" *does* expect the same conveniences as those in a "city" (where does that leave the rest of us who live in small or medium sized towns???) - but having been "in the sticks" during the original BB rollout programme, what does wrankle is when UKGov make stupid statements and raises expectations.

What this really means is that the 'digital divide' will actually grow wider between those in densely populated urban environs (with sooper-fast fibre) and those "in the sticks" with (possibly) 2Mbps wireless - still, at least they'll have the view to look at, eh?

When has the Gov taken any

notice of the e-petition system anyway???

Even if the rumour was true (and let's face it - it's easily believable in this overly PC society), only half a million supported it, peanuts as far as the Gov is concerned - after all, 50% more people actually walked the streets of our capital to oppose the hunting with dogs bill but that cut no ice.

I should imagine that you'd need at least a couple of million signatures to get a junior ministers eyebrow to even twitch!

Luuurve, because deep down we all love to see the arobatic finesse of the Red Arrows.

Gave in eventually

...after running out of 'not at this time', but through a quirk of the system I now have 2 VbyV accounts for the same card - that means I have to look very carefully at the 'security' page so that I enter the right characters from the right password.....ho hum.

Frankly I'm not impressed with the system, it seems clunky and adds yet another step in an online ordering transaction which is probably already teeming with 'security' features.

And as for the 'it's to make your transactions more secure' excuse - I think it's got much more to do with shifting liability onto the consumer for fraudulent use,

after all "...that huge overseas bound order *must* have been you because it was handled by VbyV and nobody would know your details unless you've given them away (which is your fault stuid!)....".

I don't know what the answer is, but this kludge isn't it.
