While it's clear that the Author knows what he's talking about, the way the article is written is very confusing.
Phrases like:
"10GBase-T ports use more power than it typically provided by SFP+ ports and thus until very recently 10Gbase-T modules to plug into SFP+ ports have been difficult to find and expensive"
and this:
"What people actually buying networking want is the most possible networking with the lowest cost and the least hassle."
are confusing to understand. Also, it would help if the article clearly outlined the 4 standards of 10Gb internet, maybe in different paragraphs or in bullets as an introduction. I had to go back and forth to understand which 4 standards are being mentioned.
If I was really wondering about getting my hands on a nasty little device like the Pi3, I would put my money on the new odroid C2:

Been using Silver support for quite some months now and can say that it's pretty useless. No help was given ever and when facing problems we usually get a "the host is working as expected, so it must be a problem in your configuration".
We're actually thinking giving up on the support and save ourselves a couple hundred of dollars per month.

Actually the question is: Who Cares?
Who cares about the uptime of Windows Update Servers or Ubuntu...?
But even if one would be barely interested in these Update Servers, one might be more interested in *HOW* many critical patches have been addressed by the ... or better... *HOW* many critical flaws there are still that need to be patched. This one would be a comparison that I would really like to see.... but maybe impossible...
