Actually hoping it will shame Mozilla into copying it TBH.
Looks like Mozilla bottled out with their idea, under pressure from advertisers.

I would have a look at one of the Linux's if I was you...
Ubuntu 10.04 is nice.
But you may be better off with a more modern PC to start with... unless you are short of cash, or you are a masochist :-)
RAM is cheap!
>Google's Android uses a virtual machine built on a subset of Harmony
"Android Runtime
Android includes a set of core libraries that provides most of the functionality available in the core libraries of the Java programming language.
Every Android application runs in its own process, with its own instance of the Dalvik virtual machine. Dalvik has been written so that a device can run multiple VMs efficiently. The Dalvik VM executes files in the Dalvik Executable (.dex) format which is optimized for minimal memory footprint. The VM is register-based, and runs classes compiled by a Java language compiler that have been transformed into the .dex format by the included "dx" tool.
The Dalvik VM relies on the Linux kernel for underlying functionality such as threading and low-level memory management."
Its a good fist attempt tbh, the killer feature is sync.
Yes there is still a lot to do.
1. Text zoom/reflow.
2. Startup time
3. Size.
I am not that bothered with the large install size as long as it works.
Oh and Opera can kiss my arse... Have you read the EULA! ffs they want not only your soul but that of your first male born child as well.
Painless and under $3.
I usually have a quick look in the market but keep an eye on the reviews for Best 10 Andriod apps etc.,
My HTC Desire has been my best tech buy of the last 5 years... more than makes up for my Sony Clie Palm disappointment of a few years ago.
I love Firefox but talk is cheap, and we have heard this "tracing" bullshit before.
Look just admit that you got it wrong the first time, there is no shame in that... just draw a line under it and move on.
Also much as I would love firefox to outperform Chrome they are no where near yet.
Apt based packaging from central repositories makes updates easy.
This is why I love Ubuntu.
Actually the default is to run this for you each week as "Update Manager", so you don't get swamped with updates each day.
Security updates are push out immediately.
Every OS has flaws but windows is a bundle of flaws masquerading as an OS.
Checking and quick patching are the key points.
GNU/Debian/Ubuntu/gnome is spot on in this regard.
With open code lots of ppl are looking and checking and fixing.
Big name like Google and IBM rely on it.
Apt based packaging from central repositories makes updates easy.
Windows is a nasty mess with previous compromises between security and marketing coming back to haunt them.
A first step for anyone running windows is to do the easy obvious stuff, get a Linux based router and run windows behind it, for a start.
Run firefox or chrome not IE, install Security Essentials. Don't use dodgy copies of XP.
If you are short of cash, use Ubuntu or at a push download the 120day copy of MS Server 2008 and turn it into a workstation, you can bump it to 240 day legally.
But seriously unless you have corporate IT keeping an eye on security for you, just take the time to learn Ubuntu.
Using windows is like wearing a big target on your back, all the viruses are targeting YOU!
D'oh!
Ubuntu.
Get a Xbox for games.
Running Ubuntu... use Virtualbox and run a copy of XP in that for any apps you need.
Run "sudo stop qemu-kvm" before you start it and you are good to go.
Peace.
