Renewable energy means that the *fuel* is renewable. That claim is true for wind and solar.
It does not mean that the *installation* is renewable. If you want to compare that, the article needs to go into how renewable the nuclear installation is. At least an old wind turbine is not a radioactive hazard for centuries to come, like a nuclear installation
I stopped reading earlier.
Google is costing a lot of money by being in between end user and commercial services? I don't see why. What I see is that Google allows me to easily find commercial services.
People drop their ISP email, because the google mail is free? True, but it is also better.
Google annoys us with advertising? It is just because of google initiatives like adwords we see less popups and blinking banners from advertisers.
Google can drop your service anytime? True that Google drops services and adds others. But if you want professional service you can get a Google business account for e-mail, storage etc. with SLA guarantees, which can not be withdrawn just like that.
"Crusading pro wind boffins"...
The credo of most boffins is objectivity.
If you look for a crusader, take this lewis page character.
Constantly spamming the registry with one sided climate skeptic tea party views.
Can't you get someone with a balanced view, at least then we can take the climate skeptic articles seriously.
It is irritating to find stuff that belongs in the "advertise with us" section mixed with the articles.

Global temperatures not going up? Check these:

When the author writes "and even if they do...", he seems to know perfectly well he's writing things that are not true. What's the use of this misinformation?

Easier to gain popularity than to set up a profitable business?
Is this on the authority of Prof. Trewlaney or based on statistical figures?
I'd like to see some numbers on sites succeeding in being popular and sites succeeding in being profitable.
For once that someone speaks up on the prosecution of critical voices by economical superpower China at home and abroad all the Register can say is:
- Google, which simply wants to find out everything about you
- a problem that Google created for itself
Implying that Google is just as bad as China and as no one is without faults, we should not complain on violation of human rights in China.
Immoral.

At night it is all the standby stuff that lights my house: the microwave with lcd clock, the stereo, the tv-video-dvd standby for responding to remote control, the speakers, the radio, the wireless mouse -keyboard-network-headphones, the monitor, the washing machine, the printer, the laptop power supply.
Add it up and it matches lighting a room 24/7 in each house.
