About a year ago a lot of people starting shouting for Swing 2.0 as well as JavaFX. Some of this is already happening with the swing generics project but frankly its not enough.

Worth mentioning 3 times because the thing everybody mentions against swing is the layout control.
Solving the problems of identity and privacy, yes, this checks all the boxes. There's no way the Sir Humphries of this world will let that through - they want the Police, Intelligence and "commercial partners" accessing this data.
The purpose of the ID card is not just to provide someones identity but to record it as well. And recorded information is useless unless it will be read again. Its the reader list that forms the core of the problem with the scheme.
What's happening here is that advertisers have paid to advertise on google and then made the assumption that that meant advertising on PC's in browsers.
Do any of these advertisers know that their adverts will show up when you google in a mobile browser ? Do they want to turn of their adverts for anyone looking on a Samsung or Motorola ?
Paris because she knows a service when she gets one.
The original US stealth demonstrator was built in the 1970s as project Have Blue, which eventually evolved into the F-117 Nighthawk. Improvements in stealth technology ( F-22, F-35 etc) have come about because of increases in computer power since the design of the F-117 - and how much more bang per buck to you get out of a computer since the 70s?
Trying to duplicate a 30 year old technology is naturally going to be cheaper than creating it first yourself - that's the price you pay for being first. Technology gets cheaper as it gets older.
Paris because the first caveman to wield a stick was a genius but now even she can do it.
"Quite how catching more people using mobile phones, and for careless driving, exposes a reliance on speed cameras isn't made clear." The link (and Mr. Goodwill isn't the first to notice this) is that increases in speed cameras on major roads have reduced the number of in-vehicle patrols - that little robocop in a box has allowed the old fashioned bio-cops to concentrate on non-traffic crimes.
Paris because even Paris could see that a box that only catches one offence isn't going to catch them all.
Didn't some australian build a modern V1 flying a few years back(without a warhead) as a proof of concept for this kind of attack ? I seem to recall he wanted to demonstrate how easy and cheap this was and asked why nobody was preparing for this attack.
( I also recall that he asked the authorities before he built it "I'm not going to get into trouble for this am I?" and they said "No mate, as long as it doesn't have a warhead". Then when he built it they got their nickers into a twist and he got arrested.)
I'd have to give it to the prof on Control, Damage and Agression but not on style.
It's truly remarking and amazing how many problems we have that can solved by a tax hike.
Problem : Global Warming

So what's going to happen when you get warning notice for runing a Tor node ? If you're not doing the sharing how to you get strikes undone ? Whats the standard of evidence ?
For that matter if all thats required is a screenshot of a torrent swam then what happens if I fake one up showing somebody else is sharing my home movies - can I get that person disconnected ?
