And.. we're driving nicely at 40 in the outskirts on a cloudy day and the bus/cab/my car goes over a 20mph zone on a bridge - the satnav gets confused - your nose gets real friendly with the windscreen.
Nice idea but nobody thinks things through these days - obsession with getting new technology out there before it goes stale or mouldy is the death of common sense.
Who are these people who have stolen the BBC from us - look at the big picture - they're trying to dump transmitters and other such hardware costs (I know they don't OWN the transmitters any more) and broadcast everything down the pipe - so it's public service by pay-as-you-go and 'dancing postage stamps' all over again for quality.
Just what level of bad or lack-of access are these people accepting in the jolly future world as compared to TV access now? Not everyone has broadband, a computer or even a computer capable of multimedia which provides a service at_least what their TV provides now.

@Shropshire
Please inform all known computer users that, as of the day after the 31st March 2008 that any detected dumb-use or poor invoking of common sense when using computers that a set of endorsement points (level yet to be defined) will be placed on their ECDL (European Computer Driving Licence) - yes, it exists. Those without may find re-assigned TV detector staff visiting them at an entirely inappropriate time to inform them of newly assigned guilt.
In line with road licences, when collecting 9 points, the licence will be revoked. The aim of this is to reduce the level of repeat visits to help desks with the same problem and to make people realise there really is no universal right to operate a machine of immense complex operation without for engaging some form of intelligence and at least minimal learning.
....
sorry I was bored :)
