Re: All well and good but

Thats's not entirely true, where I live a company called Hyperoptic offer FTTP at very good prices at the moment. Hoping when my BT contract ends I will be able to make the swap at a similar price.

What about......

Future versions of mankind - E.g Games Workshops 40K Universe - Space Marines, Imperial Guard, Titans, Imperial Navy etc, etc for us Mon-keighs. Plus a whole truck load of nasty's wanting us dead. Like Necrons, Orks, Tyranids?

Don't bother with that degree, say IT pros

Thumb Up

Well....

I don’t have a degree and seem to be doing very well thank you very much, however I have worked since I was 16 / GCSE age in a computer shop etc before working my way up. So have experience.

The other side of the coin is the people doing IT degrees because IT gets sold as a well paying job. The people come out of Uni with no experience and wonder why they don’t get hired for the well paying jobs.

I’m now in a position to hire etc - I would take experience over a degree, and in a perfect world Industry cert's with experience as my preferred choice.

I would apply

Think about it this way apply helm the sinking ship for 6 months to a year, golden parachute off into another cushy .gov job on even higher pay as most do then spend 3 years "doing IT jobs" then become an overpaid consultant to .gov - I think it's a very sensible job progression process....... I'll go grab my coat ... and CV ;)

Paris because with those kind of wages I could save up for a pretty personal assistant that looks very similar with a similar level of IT knowledge ;)

Epson Stylus D120 colour inkjet printer

Why not just get a colour laser?

You can pick up a good colour laser for £112.00 (see HP COLOUR LASERJET 1600) with free delivery - quicker, better and cheaper to run? And yes toner is expensive but you will still get more prints out of the "free toner" then you will out of the inkjet.

£70 printer (included "free cartridges") and £40 left for ink cartridges. or £112 for the a laser with more prints and faster?

I hate the idea of throwing away printers when they run out but sadly the companies make it more economical that way.
