FBI agents lured suspects using fake child porn hyperlinks

RE Copy and Paste

"Could you imagine getting hold of these URL's and wanting to pull a few pranks?"

That's the whole dilemma. It's similar to someone being able to spoof a phone number in order to call in bomb threats to a police agency.

The problem here is that FBI is actually promoting the ability and the tactics to smear someone else.

I'm glad they are doing this to capture pedophiles. On the other hand there are many other ways to capture criminals that don't PROMOTE criminal behavior.

RE: Doing the pork-barrel roll

I know, right? Don't most modern aircraft need to be able to -turn-?

Otherwise, it's just a launch vehicle.

Hearing this on the radio

For the past year or so it was being spammed and the only thought I could muster was "damn; Americans are ****ing stupid."

In all fairness, however, many Americans would have expected to be protected by the FCC. I guess the CEO of this company knows this and was able to pull a quick one off to his benefit before litigation.

The company being named "Blue Hippo" to me is a reference to the mindset of the company basically saying "We can name some god aweful scam 'blue hippo' and get away with it! Damn; Americans are stupid!" hahahahha ----> bank

@ 6 year old handcuffed. What next ??

What's next, according to your ambulance-chasing comment, is wildly blowing things out of proportion in much the same fashion the police in the article did.

Ironic.

The 6 year old had been handcuffed to provide a startle to the kid.

Bunker-nobbling US megabomb test delayed

Jesse

@ How long does it take to dig a deeper hole?

Not long. A failed bunker bomb would still prepare the way for a nuke strike as well as provide priceless amounts of one-time real-time logistical results data.

Peanut Gallery

After all of the negative comments I have read both on the Reg and elsewhere, there is NO TITLE that would appease these typical internet trolls.

Get a life people. It's a movie. And, even if it truly had a pathetic name, I would still watch it just like most of you will.

Education

Education is the simplest and more realistic solution.

If everyone had a huge incentive to use circular saws, would we then require everyone to be licensed for saw use, or would we just make sure that people were properly trained in school?

This mentality needs also to be applied to gun use in America. If it works for birth control why won't it work for guns?

The underlying issue is that everyone believes everyone else is stupid, yet few will recommend education. Ironic really.

RE: Talented = Autistic?

Too late, Andy. A couple years ago or so some Palestinian militants talked a kid into strapping on bombs to walk to a checkpoint to blow up. Thankfully the scared-shitless Police were able to get him to take it off and what not without any deaths.

"Israeli media described Abdo as a "mentally challenged" boy while his brother, Hosni, said that Abdo "has the intelligence of a 12 year old."

Unfortunately his Mother is just as ignorant.

Percentages don't mean much

When we don't know how many Ospreys are being discussed. 50% of 10 is much more reasonable then, say, 50% of 100.

I doubt a squadron of ~250 Marines has 100 Ospreys (if Wikipedia is accurate), but you get my drift.

You know what they say about statistics...
