Utilitybidder gets disconnected by developer

This is a comment in the source of that front page too:

"You may wonder why this site is offline, if you are reading the source then you are most probably a web developer that has been paid to change this.

I put this here as the company in question broke our contract and left payments outstanding, as a last resort I put their site offline, what else could I do.

Make sure you are paid up front, even if you have a contract, they aint worth shit."

Sneaky bin chipping still in the bag for UK.gov

Erm...

I was watching an interview with someone who was running the pilot of this just this morning, and he categorically stated that they are not chipping bins unless you opt in.

I will normally defend El Reg where others wouldn't, but seriously, OTT much?

MUMPS

Ah MUMPS isn't so bad, you can at least be very... concise! :)

When Commodore ruled the world

Jon Gaul

Those were the days!

I loved the C64. :-) I too used BBC Bs at school and had a C64 at home (which introduced me to programming). I vastly preferred the C64; while "technically" inferior to the B, the C64 was practically a much nicer machine. Amongst other things it always felt more "friendly". Hardware sprites I still miss today on PCs, as well as scanline interrupts (the forerunner of 'copper lists' on the Amiga, oh those rainbow effects!)

As far as sound goes... I've heard (very short!) wavs played in later C64 demos... I haven't heard that in a spectrum/BBC B (yet). If you want an idea of what C64 music sounds like, check out the High Voltage SID Collection at http://www.hvsc.c64.org/ ... Some of the stuff composers managed to do with that little piece of kit is amazing.
