Solving the problem.

I believe that I have solved the problem of talking and driving at the same time.

Very simple, really. When I passed my test in 1995, I did not have a mobile, neither needed one, and I was able to drive from A to B without one.

Nowadays I stick my "all bells and whistles" smartphone in my jeans pocket, and I drive away. No bluetooth, no hands-free kit, nothing. I pretend I don't have a phone while I am in control of car.

I someone calls me, I can call them back later. Simple, really.

What you seem to forget is, that gamers on Xbox Live are used to pay for 27-33 quid for "Gold" (anyone that pays more needs to learn how to use the internet).

For all of the previous generation, Sony fanboys spent their time trowing the fact that online multiplayer gaming was free on the PS3. It isn't now. The cheapest I could find is £42.99. PS+ is still better value than Gold, but many people I know that have PS3s only had it for the free multiplayer. These are the kind of people that Sony will struggle to make money out of them.

I know at least three people that got a nice nasty surprise with their PS4s when they found out about the paid multiplayer.

Microsoft in the long run will maintain their user base, and Sony will struggle to keep theirs. This generation is Microsoft's to lose.

Blur vs Split Second Velocity

I disagree.

I have played both games already. You call Blur bland, cheap, etc. No, it is more fun. The AI in S/S is extremely cheap, the helicopter races are just downright stupid and most races you'll be playing over and over again hoping for a lucky break. Now Blur: Career mode is excellent and challenging without being cheap, when you win a race is because you are good and not because you caught a lucky break after 20 or so tries and the only, not only is well populated but the ranking system is just right and experience is absolutely brilliant.

I can see that most of the comments are from people who seem to despise both gamerscore and people that play for gamerscore.

Of course they do, that is their right.

This really is taking things a bit too far. It is just giving people a reason not to buy their hardware and move to PS3. Surely a bad business move?

It will not affect me but there are 1000's of people that use "unauthorized" 2GB memory sticks that will be affected and they will be forced to pay over the odds for and official, extremely expensive, 512mb which is useless.

The movies at £5 a pop as you say are there as a convenience, no one's forced to buy them.

The £40 (£30 on eBay or even cheaper if you are wise) are money very well spent as the on-line experience is second to none, after all you get what you pay for.

I have a cheap Vista H. Premium running 2GB ram. As soon as I bought it, I formated the whole of the HDD, reinstaled Vista off the DVD and installed only the software I need, no dodgy stuff for me...

That was almost 2 years ago. Never had any problems with it as there are no crapware programs, no AV shit, only use AVG free and it works like a dream, even better than XP.

For all the Linux apologists, you may be asble to work with it but, for the general public, it is a pain in the ass to work with.

Downloaded it, played a few games already, no lag whatsoever (other than the ones on certain games, which I know are there), no problems so far *knock knock knock* and I quite like how it looks.

Those that had problems are either lying PS3 fanboys or idiots that tried to remove the HDD while the update was installing/downloading. For them, I have no simpathy at all.

Xbox 360 = Gaming satisfaction. PS3 = Film lover wannabe gamer...

I've got a Tesco bought Gateway running Vista H Premium and it is the most reliable of all the laptops I've had. Compaq? A joke, kept going back to PC World. Dell? Luckily was a compny one, otherwise I'd have broken it myself. Ee? Lasted a week then had to return it, the bloke at PC World didn't know what was wrong with it.

So my opinion is: Buy a cheap laptop at Tesco's and it will last forever.

I have a 360 and it has RRoD'ed on me, bloody incovenience, but it was free deliveries all around from UPS to and from Havant, and it came back without me paying a cent, with an extra Live month thrown in (4 quid) and a nice sorry letter. I agree that having it away for about two weeks is not good and unacceptable, but when I bought my Xbox I was aware of its problems but all I wanted was a good games' machine with reasonably good games to go with, not a do-it-all thing that will play blu-ray or access the internet (there are PC's, remember?) and Blu-ray discs are just too expensive (I'm still building a DVD library, no way I'm going to change to another format now).

PS3? Never for me, s***e controller, worst games. Wii? For the kids. Xbox 360? All night sessions. Thanks.

The controller side of it, seems to be a neglected area, the PS3's absolutly crap and useless and it is the single reason why I chose the 360, but the rest holds true any time.

Ok, we have a RRoD issue, it is a bloody inconvenience being without it for a week (or two) while it is on holiday in Havant, but, for some reason, it always feels good to have it back and get it going again!
