Tour de France

Perhaps El Reg should stick to IT comment.

Netapp Endura competed in the TdF this year and performed exceptionally with Leopold Koenig finishing in 7th. Top 10 would be considered a fabulous result for any "second tier" team.

Paris-Tours is a relatively minor race. Trying to extrapolate this to the entire season is like trying to say that Arsenal had a bad season because they didn't win the community shield.

Consumerisation

I would hazard a guess that this is more to do with the increasing trend of "consumerisation", i,e. this is what the employees want, not the IT depts.

In my company both iPhones and Desire HDs are offered, but the corporate types want iPhones.

Because they're tools.

Not very interesting but..

I'd add SmartConnect to that list. Allows you to set up connection groups that automatically try a series of connections in order, e.g. Wifi, 3G, WAP.

Means you only ever have to select one connection again.

I remember...

When I was 10, going on a day trip with my Dad to Evesham to get us an Amiga 500+. The kids next door had one, and they bought theirs from Evesham Micros too.

They gave us a free Dizzy adventure pack and joystick too!

inclusive minutes

It doesn't bother me so much that I pay for 0800s from my mobile - I accept that mobile connections are more expensive. I just want them to come out of my minutes package!

Surely it must be cheaper of vodafone et al to connect a 0800 call than a mobile call?? So why is the latter included and not the former?

So let me get this right...

When Davis claims a massive victory in this safe conservative seat, he's going to try and claim some kind of political capital?

That's like trying to impress the girls at school by beating up the kid with Down's Syndrome.

The author of this article clearly has some kind of chip in his shoulder, or is just a little misguided.

"a one per cent worldwide CO2 saving, which would be wiped out by reasonable economic growth in less than 20 years."

Surely if this invention saves 15% now, won't it also save 15% in 20 years when demand is higher?

Technical problems mar Barclays' PINSentry roll-out

I'm leaving Barclays

I hate this system. I think the reasons are pretty well stated in the link in the article.

What I want to know is why Barclays haven't:

a. Made this optional? I will never fall for a phishing scam, so why do I have to suffer for those that do?

b. Replied to my email complaint 3 weeks ago which has an SLA of 3-5 working days?
