Microsoft's Hotmail hybrid struggles to life

Juan
Jobs Halo

ID:10T error code

Works fine for me. What's the fuss all about? Or is it user error ...again?

Besides, I've been using over 8 years or so and it's the mailbox I get the least spam and junk mail in. Gmail on the other hand is a nightmare with all their spam mail.

Pay my mortgage

Have these criminals no conscience? Don't they know Africa is starving and Asia is flooding away? Do they not know that their despicable act of music and movie sharing impoverishes the music and movie companies? Do they not know that these companies donate the bulk of their profits to various aid agencies?

Anyway, how are these nasty and evil criminals identified? Or are they just going to send these letters to everyone that has a lot of activity on their account?

Apart from the occasional pron browsing the majority of my broadband activity is used by BBC iPlayer and playing Call of duty 4 online.

Thus, if I get such a letter I'm sure to sue for compensation for hurt feelings, slander, invasion of privacy etc. Hell, I want my mortgage paid off, a holiday plus spending money in Barbados covered, and any other punitive fees my snazzy lawyer can think of.

Thumb Up

Once a BOFH, always a BOFH

Has anyone even bothered to lift the keyboard up and look underneath it? That's where you usually find the post-it pad with all the required passwords on. Or, they could just try P@55w0rd , guaranteed to unlock most companies' networks....

Reminded me of the proper way for him to have done it:

How to beat AVG's fake traffic spew

Juan
Thumb Down

AVG now passed it's Sell By date

This is why I dumped AVG after 6 or so years for another product. AVG slowed down my web browsing speed to such a point that it become more of an effort just to launch my web browser. I get very impatient when web pages takes too long to open and as such I lose interest quickly and move on. Now AVG has slowed down everything for me.

After I threw all the toys out of the pram, I removed AVG, got another AV product and all was well again in the land of Mordor.

I have never seen a CCTV camera

These MP's must have gotten their Politician "talk while bybasing the brain" training from the same place the former Iraqi Information Minister Muhammed Saeed al-Sahaf (Remember him?) got his...

AMD datacenters more loyal but rare

Juan
Jobs Halo

If you want loyalty, get a dog

My datacentre (which is a lab) have just over 300 machines in and is split roughly in half regarding AMD and Intel processors. 20 machines are production machines and the rest are test servers which includes 3 Itaniums, all used for repros, workshops, stress and load testing as well as PoC's. I have found that my AMD boxes tend to be a bit more reliable compared to the Intel ones in that they fall over less. The main OS used is Server 2003 and recently Server 2008 RC0. Nowadays people are not too concerned with the make of processor seeing as that has reached it's peak in terms of speed (for the time being) but rather want memory - lots of it; 4, 8, 16 and 32GB is now the new flavour of the month.

In the end if I have to be asked to choose which processor I want and have to choose between AMD and Intel processors of similar or same specifications, I will buy the one that has a cheaper price tag.
