It seems today they're trying to make some money through everything else that isnt Adwords.
Just had an email confirming 5th May as the 1st day they start charging for Google Checkout, pretty steet Paypal-esque fees too:

Well it's all a bit confusing as it's meant to be the 7th release of NT...
1) Windows
2) Windows 2
3) Windows 3.0 / 3.1
4) Windows NT 4.0 / 4.1
5) Windows 2000 / ME (NT 5) and XP (NT 5.1)
6) Windows Vista (NT 6)
7) Windows 7 (NT 6.1)
It's actually NT 6.1 - but M$ recon there are enough differences between it and Vista to still consider it a major new revision. This apparently was not the case with XP versus 2000/ME ;-)
I think the same developers that work out the "time remaining" figure on file transfers worked out this logic.
It seems like the manufacturers are going a little bit crazy with the whole netbook market.
I'm amazed at how many "high-end" netbooks I've seen at CES this week, from the Sony at $800 to the HP Vivienne Tam at $600.
Even Asus are in on the act with tablet and gaming models.
The disappointment for me has been the lack of updates on the SCC side of things, the next £199/£249/£299 models, and that Samsung didn't showcase the NC20 (as had been rumored).
Paris as maybe she'd heard of Vivienne Tam before the show.

Yes they have European warranties, the first section of the manual is in english and has the full UK warranty details and specifically says it is a 24 month warranty.
The only thing to watch out for is that the warranty is void should the products have been resold privately. Therefore eBay purchases will NOT be warrantied unless you are buying from a shop selling on eBay.
I work for an online e-tailer who has been doing a lot of importing (over 2000 units so far) this Christmas.
The price hike is partly due to the extra costs involved. Most of the retailers are buying "off the shelf" at retail price in bulk. Then add the cost of air freighting, insurance and changing plugs. It all adds up.
Now include a slightly better profit margin that retailers can make when selling them at £179 (around £8), and I think the high price is more than justified.
Retailers are taking huge risks paying cash up front to unknown suppliers in Europe to secure quantities for people for Christmas since Nintendo failed to meet demand.
Sure prices might be out of proportion to the value of the product, however there are people willing (and desperate) to pay it. Those that aren't can blame Nintendo and wait until stock finally sorts itself our late Q1 2008. You cannot blame the retailers at all.
As an aside, a small bonus in paying over the odds for a European import is that you get a 2 year warranty instead of a 1 year warranty!
I guess there was some confusion with the person adding the product to their site.
The wireless entertainment pack can only be sold TOGETHER with a console. They cannot be sold seperately nor the items split for resale.
