Hmm, that's all well and good, but when will I be able to buy a star trek transporter?

On the flip side
If you think of all the compromised Windows machines out there due to security holes, worms trojans and what have you - I bet there are a lot more than 70 million Windows users alone that have had personal data compromised, so in the grand scheme of things - It's really not that bad. To be honest i'd be more concerned if someone had nuked my porn collection - they can have the credit cards - they're easily cancelled and replaced - but the porn, that's taken the best part of 10 years to amass. Just a little vigilance people - i'm pretty sure the perpetrators will, quite rightly, be shitting themselves anyway - they've probably left a trail leading right back to themselves.

Religion
I don't understand why you would want to brainwash a chi... I mean teach any religion to a child in the first place anyway.
Looks like another busy body within our governement wants to butt their nose into other nations business, obviously because over here we know best, with this bed of fucking roses that Labour have created for us. Fucking Labour MP's. Know what's best for everyone, including subjects they know fuck all about. As fucking usual.
Here, take this fork from me as i'm incapable of feeding myself without stabbing myself in the eye.

Lets not forget that Supt. Murray only reminded them, and not reprimanded. Lets be honest, he had to be seen to be taking some kind of action, otherwise he'd be facing the backlash of the Daily Mail readership. Which he probably already is anyway, since they'll be still be expecting these police officers heads on a stick. 'Torture is too good for 'em' & ' Too busy fooling about, letting all the foreign rapists roam free' etc etc.. Besides, he probably had a laugh at the video too.
On the other hand, my boss would have sacked me instantly if he had seen just how many pirouette's my company vehicle can do in his company car park the other week...

cheap
Presumably they'll be using terribly cheap plastics, and the suspension will be so comedically soft it'll look like a kangaroo even on the smoothest of tracks. Unless they poach their engineers from other teams, in which case it'll become a British team, funded from overseas, much like most of the other teams...

Foul language. Very biased opinions. Sarcasm.
A quality piece of journalism.
Well done.
Personally I think its a good idea for non-IT family and friends to catch up on eachother without the hassle of having 'Mafia Wars' and other crap facebook/social networking apps forced down your neck every time you go to have a look at pictures of cousin Tommy. And what's more, you won't have to put up with friends requests from old acquaintances who you actually hated back then and still hate now.
I'd be interested to know what your opinion of the software would be had it come from a firm you actually like...?

Reading all this, I think i've for once found a Reg story in which everybody agree's with eachother on the same subject!
Labour just do not get the message.
However, regardless of who takes over, i've now reached a point where I have absolutely no faith in any of the system anyway.

(un)fortunately my mobile service provider feels that the london scientology website is too dangerous for my eyes to see, so have blocked access to the site... Obviously someone's looking out for us by censoring this highly offensive material.
At least youporn still works though.. it's a shame Jacqui Smith's hubby didn't know about this great free service

as mentioned in another post, i've just put vista onto a p4, with 2 gig. Now the hard disk is constantly on the move, whereas in XP, it would boot up, and sit idle until I told it to do something....
I use a UPS, which monitors how much power it supplies to the P.C. Pre-Vista, it would idle at 89/90w. Post-vista its never below 93w. Negligible difference, but hardly the '33% more efficient' i'd be hoping for. I'm guessing that the additional 3 watts are being used by the constantly harrassed hard disk. Which happens to be Fujitsu. Wonder how long that will take to pop.
Charles... and i bet that was an old AT supply, with a proper 'ON/OFF' switch. Which you KNEW was completely cutting the mains off from the PSU.

Re: Typical
That would probably be about 90% of the population. Does make you sick doesn't it? Considering we pay for everything, and don't have a single say on anything. This is no longer a democracy. New Labour is probably the most corrupt & incompetent government I've ever seen. And the sad thing is, that 90% of the population will vote these morons back in, 'because it's better the devil you know'
Merseyside health authority gives away staff data
how?
so, i guess whats happened here is some tool has maybe been asked to copy something and send a copy to these 4 organisations. And said tool has accidently went into the confidential HR filing cabinet and copied the personal employee details instead.
Easy mistake to make, I suppose.
Any better ideas?

Police aim to stamp out virtual child abuse

inhuman
Since the inhuman race never ceases to amaze me anymore, maybe its safer to have these weirdo's on that website. At least while they're getting their kicks out of a virtual world, it might just stop them from doing it in the real world. Paedophilia will never be eradicated. Fair enough, people will say 'but what if they see something on there & go and re-enact it...' Well I'm sorry, but they are going to do it anyway, regardless of whether a website can cater for their needs or not. Seemingly, it's another sexuality. You're either into child sex, or you're not. Nobody can change them, and we can't lock them up because our prisons are full of much more dangerous criminals like fraudsters & car theives. And while we've got judges and high profile celebs being caught with dubious images, it is obvious it's a deep rooted problem, so maybe letting them live out their fantasies on a website for the socially challenged is the best thing to do.
