But ...

"But according to the Comentards on El Reg she should have killed him! What if it was you who kicked her vicious little dog?"

According to PETA, reason enough.

Justice

The value of a down loadable electronic version of a song is the rough equivalent to that of a candy bar.

The usual punishment for nicking a candy bar is to be forced to apologize to the store owner and make restitution.

Therefore, Tannenbaum should apologize to the RIAA and give them their 7 bucks.

What they mean is

"Finally, Microsoft said it measured page load times using "visual cues" or a combination of visual cues and the ability to interact with a page to determine if a page had completely loaded."

Translation from Microspeak - "Please ignore the Done with errors on the status bar."

A little bit of history repeating

Does anyone know if IBM ever defended it's "Personal Computer" brand name so vigorously?

Reg Reader poll on notebook quality: results are in

Perception isn't reality.

It would be interesting to have the poll re-run based on actual experience instead of perception and see how the 2 marry up.

Goat hangs self in Canadian zoo

Don S.

It's Simons's fault

The goat got severly depressed having to wait over a month for a BOFH episode.

It has happened before. Take note of this statement from Simon's Wikipedia entry:

"His goat died 2-Nov-08."

Has the war on terror scored a virtual victory?

Black Helicopters

All is fair etc etc

This is a declared war between El Queda and the US, not some difference of opinion over political ideology.

The Propaganda battle ans Psyops are almost as important as the guns and bullets battles.

Apple slapped for dodgy ads

@James Bassett

Java Script <> Java.

Surely this is the fault of the web site programmers who are too lazy or too incapable to provide proper "No Flash" alternatives to their sites.

I really think it is time we criminalized us of the phrase "This site requires ... "

Amazon to take MP3 downloads international

Don S.

@Richard Porter

It's a marketing dig. ITunes DRM songs won't play on WMP and vice versa. Buy the DRM free songs from Amazon and they'll play on either or any player.

Competition is this market is good. If anyone thinks that Apple is just going to throw in the towel is kidding themselves.

Actually, since they are Canadian they would go to Kandahar, but I take your point.

Unhappy

It's not about a fair way to distribute music

This is a typical scheme of the pseudo-communist Canadian arts community to get a steady paycheque for mediocre musicians, whether they sell there music or not.

CSI Farmyard

I'm surprised no one has as yet made the connection between the cow over the cliff and dung sniffing.

Perhaps, said bovine was pushed over by some Columbians trying to "horn" in on the market.

It's only fair.

If M$ can build a stripped down version of Windows for Eee PC's that actually works, then they can build one for regular PC's that doesn't suck the life out of them.
