Linux needs the paid apps that regular people use. If Adobe bought its creative suite to Linux, that would be a game changer. Yes there are many weird & wonderful open source alternatives, but they are rarely as good, & don't fit into a workflow with others.

By any miracle, does the file explorer now show how big a folder is in list view, without having 'get info' (or whatever the windows command is) on it?
In Windows 10, files display their size, but folders are don't.
It sound like a very minor gripe, but coming from a Mac where you can see at a glance where a folder is 500gb or 50k in size, it gets pretty annoying when you are dealing with lists of folders all day containing audio/video.
Dowden out, Dorries in: Is UK data protection in safe hands?
In defence of Nadine Dorries from a tech-competence level, she was the only person that could bully Openreach into providing broadband to my recording studio in rural Bedfordshire.
I'd exhausted all other routes (& alternatives...satellite broadband etc), so in desperation 'wrote to my M.P'.
To my astonishment (after years of trying myself with no success), Openreach duly dug-up the road & seemed genuinely in fear of Ms Dorries.
Nice work.

I use Macs & Final Cut Pro X for a living, & the loads appear to be distributed between GPU & CPU (couldn't tell you *exactly* what is doing what) from seeing the performance of a variety of machines that I use...so yes, a big fast new chip (I assume this is whats going in the forthcoming iMac 'Pro') would be very much welcome...also in the audio processing side of things its 100% CPU load

Seems a good update..
Can't believe i'm the saddo that's first to comment.
Anyway...Yes, the 2.1 update does to seem to make the battery last longer, the gprs available where it wasn't before, & the interface (contact browsing & typing) more responsive.
Good stuff.
Now just give me cut & paste, & i'll be happy with it until next July's Mark III Model.
