It looks to me like a Microsoft is putting Linux paint-job on their RAM-hog slowfiletransfer namelenthissued Windows Bloatosaurus OS.
If Microsoft still isn't making it work better I'm not interested.
It would be interesting to find out how it ran if MS released Windows10 using a Unixy type kernal. I don't think Redmond would ever go that far. They can't do it.

The toilet paper and ramen Apocalypse...
Well isn't this just dandy. We know the score though. Politicians will do what we know politicians do. Meanwhile we will just have to deal with this situation the best we know how. When the brown smelly stuff hits the the speedy circular rotating thing it always comes down to us being on our own. Gov doesn't ever really save us.
That said, if nothing else, we can go watch our, now panicked, neighbors wiping out toilet paper and ramen stock from the super market shelves.
I hope no one here has run out of toilet paper (I truly and sincerely mean that)
Maybe I should just shorten the title to Toilet Paper Apocalypse.
May Christ and God be with you all.

Famed Apple analyst chances his Arm-based Macs that Apple kit will land next year
I've said the same for some time now sooo....IMHO...
I believe the Desktop style interface to iOS with full monitor resolution support is already in development past the halfway point for release now.
All Apple's Macs for home end users will be shipping with iOS & Arm.
$10,000 Mac Pro work stations will continue to exist for enterprise only customers. (I believe it's already established that this gear is intended only for commercial use now by it's pricing)
The Apple/Mac OS for x86 systems will be continue on but reduced to maintenance level support with security updates and occasional CG commercial industry needed changes only once the Arm systems start shipping.
Also. Considering China is imploding and supply chains to everything are in question right now. An early switch to Arm might be needed sooner than planned. Not sure how all the rest of logic board components will be acquired though...considering China's current issues...
Whoa, France. Take it easy. Wow. You're out of control. Fining Apple 55 minutes of revenue for secretly slowing down iPhones? Maniaques!

Samsung Galaxy S11 tipped to escalate the phone cam arms race with 108MP sensor
Finally
When pro gear for football games got to 20mp I got all hot and bothered over 15yrs ago. Since chip tech loves Moore's law I figured image chips would get to, not just film resolution, but film surface size to get enough color and resolution density to surpass film shortly thereafter. I sold a huge load of Nikon and Canon gear so I wouldn't get caught with all my money tied up in old tech. Then image chip tech stagnated. It never got fully beyond film level resolution to print. The only saving grace was I still didn't need film anymore and film got to be to expensive to use.
So fast forward 15+ yrs to today. FINALLY a fscking image sensor that is a bit larger and one that hits triple digits in megapixels for consumer level use. Sheeeeeiiiiiit that took it's time.

Given a lottery win of sufficient size I'd financially assist the project to reach GTK 3 so it can to get it there fast as possible. Then I'd dump ludicrous amounts of money on the fork to empower them to really update the software and take it to a new level of awesome.

XFCE has been the most reliably stable and dependable thing for me. No matter how new or old my PCs or what combinations of gear, XFCE blows away everything else I've used when it comes to things just working. I wont tell the Mint, Gnome or KDE developers what to do but I also don't want go back to those either.

Re: Quality Control
Time to watch a few repair videos on iPhones. Seriously. What is inside is not what you would have been lead to believe. It's got rather pedestrian components in there. Sometimes not even up to the grade of other manufactures. I guess it's one of those things that, until you've seen it yourself, you can't believe it.

Blue Bloods and 5G
Why 5G? Same reason you can't concentrate when there's a jackhammer outside being used to break up concrete. Your brain/mind is also electric by nature. Create enough electronic noise in the world around you and your spirit and mental connection with God gets weakened and drowned out more. If you've ever felt that connection you will feel it and know it less immersed in a 5G environment. Blue Bloods that run things in this world actually believe 5G does that and so goes their race to promote it when when many tech people can't see a strong enough reason why we needed it.
iOS 13 leaks suggest Apple is finally about to unleash the iPad as a computer for grownups
Stick a fork in mac...
This just sounds like the re-emergence of the iPad as a computer substitute again. Apple seems intent on sticking to going in that direction. With this, putting any $ or personal time investment in anything further of the mac line is a waste at this point. Even moving to a hackentosh is a waste now because that OS is on the outs. Even if Apple says otherwise this reveal about iOS says otherwise. (just my two cents)
