Google Earth's AI makeover survives less than one planetary rotation

Wisdom of ages

1/365 of trip around the sun actually.

One turn of the earth, 1/365 of a trip around the sun.

I don't think the people that write the articles here are very smart. I've seen a lot of really stupid ones.

If you're not supposed to make fake satellite photos with a fake satellite photo Maker what good is it?

Microsoft says 8 GB of RAM should be enough for anyone running Windows 11

Re: Where did it all go wrong?

No, lol to use software in the OS. Just an OS by itself doesn't do much.

Wisdom of ages

Windows has always been my favorite OS because it works with everything I use without the flaws or failures of other OSs I tried. They just keep making it better all the time. I can't say anything about the AI features because I just have never used them or had a reason to.

Open source project fools AI scrapers with poisoned font

The people that cry that AI is terrible work to make it worse. Brilliant. Be the opposite of the change you want to see in the world. Gandhi wept.

Re: general *nix problem altogether...

I suppose the great numbers of morons may be having an influence on that.

The next iteration will install itself when you click to close the prompt instead of installing it in terminal.

What chocolate factory are you talking about? Or are you just trying to be a cutsey face silly boy? Journalism should be about facts not trying to be silly.

No one with a brain does. All you have to do is store your critical data on another drive that is external and then disconnect it and take it with you. Heck with the size of some thumb drives You just put stuff on there that you want to keep safe.

Re: LibreOffice.

Which can also be said for Windows itself and MS office.

Re: LibreOffice.

It would be nice if LO would also give you the option to use agentic ai if you choose to or not use it if you choose not to. Choices are better than no choice at all.

Re: LibreOffice.

One of my machines has open office installed because I couldn't get office for it at the time of installation. I hope open office will follow soon and add AI as an agentic option there too.

It took them long enough.

It's about time, they've been saying they were going to do this and we've been waiting for them but they've been dragging their feet. I'm glad they are finally getting these things implemented.

This might not be what you call fake news but it certainly extremely biased and slanted news. To say that it was an uninvited guest is completely untrue, Microsoft has invited AI and now you can invite it and use it or you can not use it. It's your choice.

Much ado

This is a lot of nonsense related if you ask me there's so many ways that you can read a book these older devices have been obsolete for quite a while.

That law only applies if they converse with you. If they say nothing it's just filming in a public space which is still legal. Assault, however is not.

Google presses play on 30-second Gemini musical slop generator

Punk is for people with no talent or inspiration to create music but who can still sing. Rap is for people who can't even sing.

Wisdom of ages

It's good for setting up basslines, drum tracks, or loops that you can use in other pieces of music with software like Ableton. It's just another tool for creative people to use It doesn't replace a creative person but it helps them.

Facepalm

It can't be any worse than the slop that's been put out since around 2000 as so-called music. It has absolutely no soul. It's all based on algorithms and focus groups.
