Too-tall terror snapper stopped by cops again

Rights?

Knowing your rights makes no difference, the police arrest first, then find a law to fit.

If all else fails they'll lie and say it was a public order offence, your word against theirs. No comeback.

Lets have it right, the average plod on the street joined because they like telling other people what to do, that they don't have the intelligence to be able to interpret the law (even after guidance from the home office) is a secondary consideration.

BT axes 20 jobs at Dabs.com

FAIL

Stopped Using Dabs...

.. when BT bought them.

BT are a complete failure as a telecoms provider in terms of standard & quality of service. Clearly this has extended this to Dabs... which comes as no surprise.

TV's digital dividend could be superfast broadband

Virgin?

Virgin can't deliver anything even approaching their advertised speeds, let alone anything able to support their current customer base AND HD.

Pipe dreams.. Virgin never deliver.

Dodgey

Stop your customers discussing something that might make them leave shocker.

Dodgey to say the least, seems like BT have something to hide.

Sky channels return to cable

Pay to watch adverts.....

Title says it all. I'll never subscribe to any channels or service that carries adverts.

Not that it matters much, I wouldn't watch any Sky channel (or any virgin one for that matter) simply because their content is the TV equivalent or The Sun (newspaper). i.e Shite.

Jacqui Smith

The same Jacqui Smith that has ignored all reasoned and scientific evidence in the classification of drugs.

Enough said, she's removed from reality and any notion of proportionality.

She is unfit to do her job (IMV).

Mobiles to make calls...

Or send text messages, I might stretch to having a handheld GPS device, other than that... I can't see any reason why anyone would want to watch TV on their mobiles.... and I don't know anyone who would beyond the first 5 minutes of novelty factor.

The mobile companies are on a hiding to nothing with this.

No surprise...

Why on earth would anyone use these stores with their vastly inflated prices?

Just check their websites... I'll wager that for every item you can find another retailer selling the same goods for 30->50% less!

£700 LCD TV's retail at £1100 in their stores.... a no brainer.

Add to that the poor staff training, and the incessant "extended warranty" guff when they know they're responsible well beyond the manufacturers warranty under EU law!

I'm amazed they're still in business at all!

BBC vs ISPs: Bandwidth row escalates as Tiscali wades in

J.Butler
Stop

Nice....

Get the BBC to subsidise their networks while at the same time relying on content providers like the BBC to drive uptake of net connections! Can no-one see the glaring problem here?

I would suggest that Tiscali and the ISP's are the ones who don't know their own businesses. I paid for my internet connection, there's no use whining when I actually want to use it!

I think it's time we saw a new pricing structure across all ISP's, clearly they can't provide anything like they're advertising claims... Hell, VM's service is virtually unusable it's FUP terms are so draconian.

ISP's, Offcom and the ASA... these are the real problem parties here!

Prices...

I notice they've all gone up considerably in price.

I suspect the discs will be getting a price hike now aswell.

All in all, I think I'll avoid until someone comes out with something worth having at an acceptable price.

.... I even wrote to them to ask them to remove me and was informed there was no functionality for removing people. Apparently there is someone there who can manually remove people.. but he's far too busy to deal with members of the public!

I'd say this is par for the course with virtually every place that asks you to register, unregistering doesn't help you users count much does it?

Virgin Media stops the rot

Whats the point...

..of rolling out 50Mb when they can't supply their existing users with anything like what they've paid for.

There's no point having 50Mb if they reduce it to 10 after you use it for 30 minutes in the hours most people actually want to use it.

The FUP is anything but "fair".

BT and Virgin Media to report broadband slowdown

Premium Broadband

As a VM customer, I can say that if their broadband business is the jewel in their crown, they're seriously screwed.

They've managed to decimate a service that worked flawlessly for several years, in several months. It's now a shadow of it's former self.

The notion that broadband is Virgins' ace card is laughable.

Ofcom: no comeback for TV on analogue spectrum

J.Butler

Eh?

So it's a no-go on HD over the airwaves for the benefit of the general public, but fine to sell it off so a privately owner corp can push mobile TV and lots of other services that no-one wants.. nice!

Digital Switchover: town to lose BBC 2 tomorrow

Should be cancelled....

The switchoff should be cancelled until Ofcom decide what's going to happen with the available bandwidth. If there is going to be a Freeview HD service, then all the boxes need replacing (again).

Still, nice to know our government can make a cockup of just about anything they turn their hand to!

Parallel Importing?

I take it that since the 60Gb model isn't going to be onsale for much longer, does that mean it's legal to import and sell these from "other" regions.

When Sony aren't importing 60Gb models, does the parallel importing argument go out of the window?
