A late colleague of mine once commented that IT goes in cycles, typically ten years or so. We had outsourced mainframes and IT, local centralised servers and IT, local departmental servers and IT, local centralised servers and IT, outsourced management of local servers and IT, cloud.
Each one is 'better' than the last, until the bills go up and the service level goes down (Or until a the current crop of senior management abandon the disaster and a new lot has a Bright New Idea).

Since companies are 'persons' in some jurisdictions, there should be no issue with imprisoning a company for fraud/wire-fraud etc. Possible methods could include forcibly locking out their entire workforce from bog-cleaner to CEO for the duration of the sentence. I suspect that one occurrence of the sentence would be sufficient to put all companies on notice...
The two strings of 7 panels on my workshop roof are essentially horizontal. Yes there is some loss of peak output due to the orientation, but it's really not significant compared with a house roof that isn't facing in the right direction. Peak output appears to be about 80% of theoretical maximum even in the UK Midlands. Ambient temperature has a larger effect than that (Lower than optimum out during the recent hot weather).

We had to put in mitigations because of AI bots, mostly Claude, killing the servers on our small, UK, forum. 40,000 sessions in any 8 hour period, compared with less than 100 genuine users...
I must admit that I've used Classic Shell/Open Shell ever since Win10 came out. Gives a consistent (Win7 alike) UI for the Win10+11 and server 2022+2025 machines in the domestic windows estate.
I can't be having with the constant changes of UI without any reliability or productivity gains to warrant them.

You might not consider it 'safety' critical, but a 5 axis CNC milling machine selecting the wrong tool from the tool changer or using the wrong tool offsets could cause significant damage to itself. A lathe turning an 80 tonne steam turbine rotor forging and 'accidentally' getting the wrong linear encoder ratios from its presets database could cause millions of pounds worth of damage plus hazards to life.
Little things like ultra high speed centrifuge speed stability have been known to cause issues when (Siemens S7-300) PLC software was tampered with.

China is, apparently producing 87% of the world's polysilicon. They also produce 85% of the world's solar cells. They are also using more than half the world's production of solar cells.
If the US wants to produce more polysilicon, it needs to produce and use the products that it's used for.
1) I must assume that most, if not all of the Korean workers and maybe the others, were sponsored by Hyundai/LG. They probably had paperwork organised by the companies and when asked why they were coming in by immigration, would have indicated that they were ex-pat workers on contract for the plant's construction, rather than coming for an indeterminate vacation.
2) How many, if any of these people were listed on any warrants?

And like another well known example of the tactic; after release due to insufficient training in the under the hood changes, the (co-) pilots find that their installation is crashing and there's nothing they can do to stop it.
