Even Microsoft knows Copilot shouldn't be trusted with anything important

Fuzzy Fitzpatrick
WTF?

Wtf

I’ve literally just seen an advert for copilot where it was used in excel to come up with a contractual rate for a service! What is it microslop? Is it for entertainment or serious business? I think I might know the answer?

Not a bug, a feature

But the researcher who found and reported the bug to Redmond won't get a bug bounty payout, as Microsoft determined that M365 Copilot isn't in-scope for the vulnerability reward program. Or, it’s working just as intended and this isn’t a bug, just a pain in the arse Joe Public found the feature.

Re: Is that a joke ?

Seems very reasonable to me, and should be expanded to other areas of law. If I had a gun and shot somebody with it, I should be able to negotiate my prison time down by telling the judge that I have a nice case for it now and probably won’t shoot anybody else in the future.

Re: Oh FFS

I don’t get why Americans can’t get this… I could care less, although I could also care more. Actually I think I care just right.

Not just standards, Microsoft standards. I shudder to think what those might be.

Re: "... and Microsoft have blamed Chinese cyberspies and data thieves for the digital intrusions"

Imagine being so cynical that you’d hold Microsoft responsible for its shit software and endless vulnerabilities instead of the data thieves and cyberspies!

Time to try Mint again

I’m so very tired of this shit. How often do we see this kind of headline now? I might have to put up with this at work but I’ve not long installed mint on to my own machine, and mostly down to updates. While Win 10 was the mainstay of MS I used to hear people complain about updates rebooting machines while they were working, a problem I, thankfully, hadn’t experienced, but since my move to Windows 11 it just seems to reboot whenever the hell it wants, regardless of the settings I set. So fuck you microsoft, and your bloated, spying, pos OS. I won’t be looking back.

Microsoft dumps AI into Notepad as 'Copilot all the things' mania takes hold in Redmond

Stop

They just can’t help themselves

MS added tabs to notepad, great, very useful and I liked it. An actual update that people may like, but for every decent update I forgot that they are duty bound to completely fuck the next iteration.

Really?

Surely by this point its obvious that Microsoft are just taking the piss with Windows 11.

Classic Outlook explodes when opening more than 60 emails

FAIL

Flag those emails!

Oh you’re mistaken, there’s the always useful function of flagging an email. Where you can flag it for something like “later today” and good ol’ outlook won’t bother reminding you about it in any way. Microsoft and productivity are two friends yet to meet!
